Preseason MVP odds have former Weber State star Damian Lillard at 45-1 to win the NBA MVP this upcoming season.

Last year Lillard finished as 1st team All-NBA, and also finished 4th in the MVP race. Dare say, it could happen?

If Little Mountain stays healthy, and the Celtics win the division big, he has a chance. Not betting on Lebron with the Lakers. The Greek Freak and Durant would be my favorites. Lillard does have a chance though.

Steph Curry and James Harden are up there. Throw in Westbrook as well.

Spot on as the playoffs are in full swing...
But Harden was not that unexpected to become a frontrunner in the MVP race... xcoffeex

Certainly a possibility. With CJ back riding shotgun chances should improve.

Toronto wins Game 7 114-110 to win their first NBA championship. L & L- Leonard & Lowry- were huge.

They got the Finals MVP wrong.
Raptors biggest asset was Kevin Durant's Achilles.

If this is true- what a big trade.

The Pelicans have agreed to a deal to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks – including the No. 4 overall in 2019 Draft, league sources tell ESPN.

Confirmed. But change doesn't happen overnight, especially in the NBA... xcoffeex

Lebron is too long in the tooth to win again, even with Davis. Lakers gave up the future for Lebron. xsmhx

LeBron didn't go to LA to win another ring. That's something the Lakers front office doesn't seem to get.

I find it hard to believe Lebron had no say in the trade. Otherwise it walks like ducks, Cavaliers or Heat..............

Same reason MJ left Chicago.
The check.
LeBron has his companies all based out of LA. He wants to own the team.

His son was going to school at one of the most prestigious schools for basketball in the country out there. He owns production companies. He owns a number of business ventures.
Turns out LA has more access to that than Cleveland.
He already owned at least one home out there. He's 36 soon. This move was all about setting the next 30 years of his life up. Not the next 3

All fine, but he still wants to win, and it looks very similar to Miami and Cleveland situations on the basketball court.

Sure
And he won't publicly state it but he's no longer chasing titles like he was in Cleveland and Miami.
He went to Miami to get titles and got them.
He wanted to prove he could do it carrying a team and winning in Cleveland. He did it
Now he still wants to win. Will certainly try to win. Winning is nice.
But
Winning another title isn't his ultimate end game anymore.
