Just announced, Southern's season opener in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge will be moved to a Sunday as the game between the Jags and Rattlers will be televised on the ESPN family of networks.

Wonder which network? Last year, Grambling vs Hampton was on ESPN2...

Southern’s first football game of the season will be on a Sunday.

The Jaguars’ season opener against Florida A&M has been moved to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 2.

Originally, the game was to have been played on Sept. 1, a Saturday.

SU, 5-6 last season, and FAMU, 7-4, will renew their rivalry in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala. The teams last played in November, 2001.

The game will be televised on one of the networks in the ESPN family.

An announcement from the network is still expected to be forthcoming.

Great idea. It will give some of us who cover games on Saturdays a chance to watch the game on Sunday.

I'll definitely check it out as well!!!

ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU - doesn't matter to me now that the cable provider here in Baton Rouge added ESPNU to my digital cable line-up. Now all I need is CSTV and I'm in heaven!
