That can't be the first FCS school to do it. Here's an article about Chicago area HS's doing it in 2014: http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/elgin-courier-news/news/ct-high-school-football-drone-met-20141024-story.html
(http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/elgin-courier-news/news/ct-high-school-football-drone-met-20141024-story.html)And I found articles about smaller colleges doing it from back in 2015 and Kansas was using them in 2016 (https://www.si.com/tech-media/2016/08/25/kansas-jayhawks-football-drones-practice).
So, I can't imagine that none of the FCS schools have done it before now.

It makes sense to use them, especially with how much cheaper you can get them these days. I could see a place like SDSU using them for some extra angles on top of the normal end zone/sideline views.

They went 0-11 last year, so subbing in some drones couldn't hurt. xcoffeex

We have been using them for a while now... I mean I watch people using them to find fish at the lake. You can buy one at Walmart for under $100. For any coach to not use one for football practice perspective makes no sense, even if the school didn't have much of a budget.

Nova has been using them for at least 2 seasons.

At this point, going to try anything to get back to the level of the rest of the conference.xlolx
