Gateway Announces 2005 TV Schedule

A minimum of eight regionally or national televised games will feature Gateway Football Conference teams, including five games that are part of the Gateway-produced television package in 2005. Conference games are featured in the package for five-straight weekends, beginning Saturday, Oct. 15. Three league teams will also be featured in non-conference telecasts, which includes one game on the CSTV “National I-AA Game of the Week” package.
Western Illinois opens the Gateway television season with a CSTV National Game of the Week on Sept. 8 against Northern Colorado in Macomb. The game marks the third-straight season a Gateway team has been featured on CSTV’s national package. In 2003, Western Illinois and Western Kentucky were televised on CSTV; while the UNI-Southern Illinois matchup in Carbondale was on last year.
For the seventh-straight season, the Gateway Football Conference is coordinating an in-house television package. The games will be produced for syndication on over-the-air and cable television stations throughout the Midwest. Each of the five conference-produced games will air on FSN Midwest and on Fox College Sports.
The league’s production company is Metro Sports, a Time Warner-owned outlet located in Kansas City, Mo. The league’s 2005 package is below:
