You mean Rice instead of SFA? I'm a big Rice fan, second only to SHSU...
SFA hits Southern Illinois in Carbondale with a potential second round game against K-State...

Congrats to SDSU.
Wow - did Montana get screwed - should have been in the NCAA's - but has to play an opening round game in the WNIT.
That in-turn probably knocked NAU out of the WNIT.

on the damn selection show, they barely even talked about who got in and who got left out, it was basically let's talk about the top seeds and NC state.

Does it matter if they talk about it? Either way the Griz are out. In 2 days when the tourney starts nobody will care that Syracuse or Drexel got left out, same goes for women's hoops. The fact of the matter is that the Griz had a chance to take it out of the committees hands & they couldn't get it done. You can't lose in the semi-finals in one of the low mid-major conferences & expect go get a bid. xtwocentsx

Welcome to life in the Big Sky! This conference sucks for basketball, and football is not like it once was. I am so ready to move onto the WAC.

Yes, SDSUfans.com had record # of people viewing (130+) to see if the Lady Jacks would be the first SDSU team selected for a D-I post season tourney. Jacks were not eligible for the NCAA's as basketball is in the same transitional purguratory that football is in (think NDSU'06). xrulesx The WNIT, since it's independent of the NCAA, doesn't have to deal with the transitional guidelines, just whether the team was good enough to make the WNIT as an at-large selection. As a top 40 (in most polls) team, with only 5 losses (all top 100 teams) and victories xpeacex over Middle Tn St., SoCal, Virginia, Alabama, Kansas, Colorado, So. Ill., apparent the committee thought they were.
Brookings is looking forward to hosting our first D-I post season play. I'll bet that SDSU has the highest attendence at the WNIT second round (first round bye) this year. xthumbsupx

well i like to hear from the selection chair, or even from the analysts about certain teams that got in and some that didn't. I know the LG blew it, you don't have to tell me, i like analysis of all teams not just Tenn. and Duke. http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/sleep001.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

South Dakota St. and W. Kentucky both host their 3rd round games VS. middle of the pack BCS schools, Indiana and MS. St, respectively. xthumbsupx
Hofstra plays at So. Carolina.
Hosting schools are winning over 80% of the games, so hopefully SDSU and WKU continue the trend and Hofstra bucks the trend.
Best of success to these 3 schools!

Congrats to Hofstra! First Elite 8 entrant for the WNIT xthumbsupx
WKU take down an SEC, and Jacks will go to take down a Big 10.xthumbsupx
To bad Hofstra & WKU will have to take down a fellow non-BCS team to get to the final four (assuming WKU continues winning ways at home).
Out of the 16 teams only four aren't from the big 6 BCS conferences.
Unfortunately 2 of the 4 will be gone by final 4 as they would face each other in the pairings from 8 to 4. xsmhx
SDSU is a bit excited as even the primary NDSU paper opines.

Then, after the 11,293 fans (about 1200 Rabbit fans) at Wyoming, on top of the 7200+ for their Oregon Game, I have to believe that Wyoming will ride the high altitude, and fabulous crowds to host the Championship game! xrulesx

Western Kentucky loses to Wisconsin 72 - 79.xbawlingx xbawlingx
Western Kentucky finishes its season at (23 - 9). Wisconsin will face Wyoming in the championship games as it took 3 OTs to defeat Kansas State 89 - 78 in front of crowd of 12,225 beating its previous high against South Dakota State. Wisconsin would have been on the road regardless of whether Kansas State or Wyoming won the game.

Wyoming has already sold 14,800 tickets out of 15,000 for the final game. The Cowgirls have played all 6 games at home and will probably gross over $1 million in ticket sales during the NIT.
They don't start any Seniors either.

I suspect that Wyoming will win the championship by HOSTING ALL 5 GAMES! That high altitude and filled arena makes a world of difference.
IMHO, Jacks were Cowgirls equals but just had a diasterous night. K-State demonstrated that they were also right there with the Cowgirls going to 3 OT's.
Nice run for all 3 teams of Hofstra, WKU and SDSU.
WKU - Hope to see you again in future regular season games, those between the Toppers/Bunnies have been great games xthumbsupx

Couldn't agree with you more.
Hofstra and South Dakota State in the Elite Eight and Western Kentucky to the Final Four for the 2nd straight year. That is an incredible feat. Western Kentucky might just start a trend. Western Kentucky has 3 NCAA Final Fours and 2 WNIT Final Fours. Quite impressive. xcoffeex
