I'm genuinely curious the way Lumberjack fans see it because the way I see it Conque's staff is still in place, you've got a 1st time collegiate HC and you've also got the distraction of the whole Conque drama, I don't think that's a recipe for success. Although I don't know how much influence Conque had so I don't know how getting rid of him will effect the team, maybe he was the only thing standing in your way of being amazing. I could very obviously be wrong, it happens all the time xlolx

When you make the semi's almost every year, it tends to happen. At least we are playing post season football year in year out, no chance at a National Championship when your equipment is turned in. When another SLC team wins a game in December perhaps we may tone it down a bit.

UCA Athletics fundraising tops $2 million mark. (Trust me getting that kind of support is TOUGH for us. )



CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas department of athletics has topped the $2 million mark in fundraising, according to Dr. Brad Teague, UCA director of athletics. The fundraising mark for 2017-18 fiscal year includes more than $453,000 contributed to the Purple Circle, the largest fiscal year total in history. The total also includes more than $815,000 in corporate sponsorship revenue, also a record amount. Another anonymous $1 million planned gift to support women's athletics and strength and conditioning for all UCA student-athletes added to the total.

Alright I thought I'd look ahead at SLU's schedule:

ULM: Loss 34 - 31
LSU: Likely Loss
UCA: Who knows.
Next 5: Likely wins.
SHSU: AT Huntsville. Ouch.
McNeese: Home game. Tossup.
Nicholls: At Thibodaux. Tough this year.

Critical: SLU will likely lose to LSU then they get UCA at home.

A UCA loss: 8-3 at best but:
SHSU at SHSU
McNeese at home.
Nicholls at Nicholls.
Plus 5 games in between UCA and SHSU that if ONE game is lost, I really think SLU will be playing for pride. But that's the trap of two payday games.

A win over UCA:
Lions could go 6-2 until they meet SHSU, McNeese, and Nichols.
They would likely have to win 2 of the 3 to get considered for a playoff spot and get 8 wins.
One additional loss and they are 7-4. I don't see them getting post season with that record and likely quality of wins.

Thoughts on scheduling two pay games as it goes to getting into post season? UCA does it next year with Western Kentucky and Hawaii.

Plus 5 games in between UCA and SHSU that if ONE game is lost, I really think SLU will be playing for pride. But that's the trap of two payday games.

A win over UCA:
Lions could go 6-2 until they meet SHSU, McNeese, and Nichols.
They would likely have to win 2 of the 3 to get considered for a playoff spot and get 8 wins.
One additional loss and they are 7-4. I don't see them getting post season with that record and likely quality of wins.

Thoughts?

Thoughts on scheduling two pay games as it goes to getting into post season? UCA does it next year with Western Kentucky and Hawaii.

Two FBS games is what it is, though I don't consider ULM an FBS game in the traditional sense because Sun Belts are just about always winnable and talent level is comparable. It's no different than playing a solid FCS team on the road to start the year. LSU is LSU and we'll take our medicine there. Otherwise, we can beat anybody left on the schedule. We could lose to most teams left on the schedule. Take them one at a time and see where it falls. I think we'll be in the mix at the end.
