Conradt coached at SHSU prior to heading to Texas. 900 wins, good for her. Glad she was able to get that before stepping down. I'm surprised that Baylor's head coach Kim Mulkey is among those being mentioned for this job...

Conradt went 18-7, 19-7 and 20-7 in her three years at the helm of the Kats program from 70-73.

Jody Conradt, the second-winningest basketball coach in NCAA history, abruptly retired Monday night after the Texas Longhorns failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.

Conradt, 65, made the announcement at a news conference in Austin.

In 38 years as a coach, Conradt compiled a record of 900-307. Her victory total trails only Tennessee's Pat Summitt.

Conradt joined Summitt as the only coaches (male or female) to reach 900 victories last Tuesday with a victory in the first round of the Big 12 tournament in Oklahoma City.

Hard to believe Texas has been shut out of the tournament the past two years. Don't know what the mood is on 6th Street, but if the UT coach were anyone younger, they'd probably be getting ready to get run out of town.

What other jobs is Kim Mulkey up for? LSU? Texas? She probably stays at Baylor though I'd like to see her move back closer to home xpeacex
