Now, aside from all that what do you guys and gals think about some teams making strides and some falling back this season? We have had a ton of good info. posted out there with things like Keeper's stack and several other information sources. If you want to bring them over and link them in here for a discussion please feel free to do so.

We already have a good idea what the top 10 is gonna be but what do we think will be going on with the next 20 or so teams for the poll?

Also, feel free to help out by bumping those other threads a bit if you pass by them.

I make it very simple for a voter to vote and to also do a good job in seeing if an error comes up and needs correction.

I make a post on the voter forum when it opens.
I also email the voters that it is open.
I get in touch if an error has occured.
If I have to send a pm.

In other words, you shouldn't really have too much of a chance to forget about it. But if you do you can miss 2 votes before I usually get to frisky and start pm'ing a voter and getting down to the why they are not doing the vote.

Basically, I put a **** load of work in so I will admit when someone signs up and I go to the trouble of making their sheet and rearranging spreadsheets, placing in hyperlinks, etc. then I can get pissy about my time being wasted for zero reason if a person signs up and does not intend to vote...or intend to make an effort as it were.

It's a commitment for the voters but from what I've seen it seems to be a pretty fun one for them so I hope all that want to will sign up and have some fun with it.

25 from 25 voters or 25 from 24 voters if a voter forgets to check a spreadsheet and gets back in line to lash again

Its not that hard to vote on time. A simple smart phone reminder. I would also suggest that people use some sort of spreadsheet and keep track of their weekly votes. It really helps with preventing omissions in your poll. I personally keep one on my desk top, or I throw it on my laptop if I am on the road. Plus ursus gives people a link to your previous votes. Never a need to wing it. Trying to do it on a phone is just too difficult, at least for me.

Go sign up and see if you get a pass due to your amount of posts etc. Those rules are frequently massaged on a case by case basis. If a person is nearly there with time and has a good number of FCS discussion posts you will get approved trust me on that.

I think you've said this more than once and it's kind of a silly premise that voters can watch all games that they are ranking.

That is not the standard. Getting input from others on their team and making your own assessment bases on those that don't support their view on their team and looking it over is a good standard that can be applied.

But this isn't something that anyone that does not want to put in a little bit of time, theory, and sometimes philosophical work on discussions should enter into. xlolx

Yeah I don't understand why some think they have to watch a lot of football nationwide every single week, like some major sports analyst, in order to fill out a poll.

Do you need to pay attention as much as possible, read a good amount, watch what you realistically can? Yes. Should you not vote just because you don't have the time to watch every game featuring a top 40 team? I think that's a little extreme.

You're one voter out of approximately 100 any given week. Your one vote isn't going to sway the outcome overall too much and this poll is still far more accurate that anything the media puts out. Do you honestly think they're bothering to watch any football outside of their own programs?

If this is the criteria, then we probably need to think about dropping the poll. ;) I doubt anyone watches their top 40 teams on a weekly basis. There is some time involved (reading and researching, not just watching games) to make your vote an informed opinion, but most of us who spend a significant amount of time here already spend that time. IMO virtually everyone that is relatively involved on this board is at least as good as those voting in the media and coaches' polls.

I'm not sure how many years I was involved with the poll here, but this will be the first year I can recall where I will be making the decision to not participate with my team now in the FBS.

I will say to the new voters that you can have a voice even if you don't watch tons of games on espn3 or some such. Follow your boxscore, keep reading on here and vote for who you think are the top 25 teams in the country.

I'm going to enjoy reading and lurking and following the most accurate (imho) FCS poll in the country year after year. Thanks for giving me a chance UAH and good luck this year with the poll.
