North Alabama's first D1 schedule progress

The Lions will be participating in a pre-season tournament in Vegas along with Drake, New Mexico State, San Diego, Washington State, Cal St. Northridge and their new coach, former Alabama coach Mark Gottfried, Northern Colorado, and SUI Edwardsville.

The schedule is far from finished but outside of the A-Sun opponents and Toledo, the big name is the Gonzaga Zags.

Roster so far:
Cantavio Dutreil-averaged nearly 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game for Trinity Catholic this year and helped the Stamford, Connecticutt Crusaders to a state championship in his junior season. He was named All-FCIAC First Team, along with Moise, as well as to the FCIAC's All-Defensive Team. One of the best big men in the CIAC this year, the 6-7 Dutreil has all the physical markers to impose his will inside the paint on both ends.

Aleksa Matic-a 6-4 guard from Belgrade, Serbia, led his Mega Leks team to a second-place finish in the Euro League during the 2016-17 season. He then helped lead the Under-18 Serbian National Team to the European championship in the summer of 2017. Most recently, he shot 44 percent from three-point range, scoring 12.1 points per game while playing for BKK Radnicki.

Emanuel Littles capped his senior season with a third straight Class 2A State championship at Lanett High School. He was a two-time first team ASWA All-State selection and finalists for the Class 2A Player of the Year. The 6-8 forward averaged 17.4 points, 16 rebounds and three assists per game while blocking 56 shots during his senior season.

Christian Agnew was a four-year letterman at Glenn High School in Westland, Mich. He also played a Taylor Made Prep academy in Pensacola last season, where he averaged 22 points per game. The 6-2 guard from Detroit, Mich., also averaged 24 points per contest in games against eight junior college teams.

Jamari Blackmon was a 2017 Alabama Mr. Basketball finalist from Hoover High School. The 6-0 guard helped lead the Bucs to the 2015 Class 7A state championship. Hoover returned to the Final Four the following year with Blackmon being selected to the Class 7A all-tournament team. As a senior last season, he averaged 25.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest.

Cameron Diggs is a 6-9, 225-pound Power Forward from Blount High School in Mobile, Alabama.

He was the No. 4 ranked player in Alabama for the 2016 class according to Hoop Seen Alabama.

Elmore averaged 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals per game as a junior at Mountain Brook High School near Birmingham. The 6-2 shooting guard helped lead the Spartans to the 2017 Class 7A state championship, including 17 points in the title game. He shot 42 percent from three-point range and was a third team ASWA All-State selection.

Andrew Morrissey, a 6-9 240 power forward, averaged 22 points and 15.3 rebounds per game at Winnebago High School in Illinois. The team captain was a first team all-conference selection and also earned third team IBCA All-State honors. He led the Indians to a 17-12 record and a regional championship.

He actually has room for a few more.
