Did any of you guys see this cheap shot by Chris Simon last night? It is simply distrubing. The NHL should suspend this guy for life - no way THIS was an accident!

Saw that "HIGHLIGHT" last night. It was nasty and brutal. Barry Melrose, the former L.A. Kings coach and ESPN analyst, called it the most disturbing stick penalty he had ever witnessed in hockey. The guy who got hit was lucky his jaw wasn't shattered. Melrose said Chris Simon should be suspended for the rest of the season (which is what I suspect the NHL will do). Simon has been suspended FIVE times in the past for his bad behavior, twice for stick incidents. He is one of the biggest thugs in hockey. You might also remember that Simon has been in the news in the past for a racist remark he made to a black player (Simon, incidently is a Native American) and I think he has also had some drinking problems that the press has reported.

Agree...watched it earlier, and he had plenty of time to lower his stick before clothslining that guy!

He not only "clotheslined" the guy, he swung his stick in an attempt to clearly hit the guy in the jaw.

He shouldn't receive any more punishment than Bertuzzi got which was a slap on the wrist.

The NHL has already established a precedent here that they really don't care about this stuff.

Yeah, saw it this morning. There is no excuse for this. If he isn't suspended for atleast a year then there is something wrong with the NHL
