Lots of enthusiasm about the Bearkats this spring with several impact transfers, all the talk in Huntsville about Rhett Bomar and 52 lettermen coming back.

There's quite a few young players that SHSU fans are very interested in getting glimpses at especially as a few continue to develop under our DC Duane Dirk. On defense, this includes our two redshirt freshmen from Longview, TX (DBs Jarvis Pippins and Cartez Beall), the continued development of sophomore LB Luke McCall and the arrival of sophomore transfer DE from Texas, Chris Brown. Also, Kats are hoping to see how that defensive line develops this year with a few highly touted redshirt freshman joining Brown and JUCO transfer Ryan Glotson.

Offensively, all eyes are focused on the young backs behind Bomar which include Eastern Michigan transfer Olufemi Ogundare and redshirt freshman TyMagic Robinson. Can't forget Chris Poullard. Also, with Bomar in the fold behind the solid Kats O-Line, the WRs (Baylor transfer Trey Payne and local product Justin Wells) and the Kats All-American candidate at TE, Blake Martin, are worth keeping tabs on as we all know the Kats love to employ an high-powered offense under OC James Ferguson.

It's good to finally hear something from the program.

can't wait to see these Kats in action.

TT, how do you think this team measures up to the 2004 squad? The only question mark seems to be our WRs.

Agreed...

And running back. 2004, we had Godfrey and Smith. We haven't seen Olufemi Ogundare hit the field in Kats orange, Audelin is okay, but nothing great. How will TyMagic and Pollard develop? Hmm...

I think Chris Poullard will be a very good back for us

There seem to be three backs that we should be excited about.

Good news for Kat fans!
