Dartmouth RB Ryder Stone taken by the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League draft.

Plenty of Ivy guys have played in the CFL. Stone is the first in recent memory to be drafted. Of course, he's a Canadian native.

The Blue Bombers had a tryout camp the day of the MSU-Mankato spring game. 28 players showed up. I got to sit by the scouts- one of them was Danny McManus, who was QB at Florida State and is in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Very interesting visit.

B.C. Lions fan here. Vancouver has no pro sports teams that have been consistently on the winning side lately... xsmhx

Ideas on who becomes the 10th CFL team? Halifax, Quebec, Saskatoon?

Would Quebec be the most logical? East needs 1 more team.

Wonder if they would ever try the US again?

I heard that Halifax would be a better choice than Moncton for the Maritime provinces. Quebec's Laval University is big for college football. I don't think that the Roughriders would like another team in Saskatchewan.

The US experiment lasted three years. Only the Baltimore Stallions were considered a financial success- and of course the Browns became the Ravens and filled that spot.

San Diego and St. Louis have openings. Oakland should have one soon.

That would make sense if they wanted to come that far south. But then Winnipeg would have to change to the East.

Meanwhile, let's not forget the fact that many of our former FCS players have had their pro glory days here, Canadian or not.

Those are interesting cities to think about if the league did seek a 10th team - and if they were open to going south of the border. I am not sure the league would want to. However, a city like St. Louis I am sure still feels slighted by the NFL - this could be the next best thing. Certainly better than the XFL or AAF.

But for cities north of the border, I am not sure another city could or would handle a team.

How did the US experiment go back in the 90s?

The Windshield Wiper. They came out in this, shifted up to the line, and scored.

It would be cool if the CFL expanded to ten teams. Halifax would make sense- they need one in the Maritime provinces.

I would like to suggest they expand to Nunavut for no particular reason. Or go to either Yukon or Northwest Territories, we need an arctic team. It’s why I want to see an Alaskan college football team.

The Stampeders and the REDBLACKS are playing for the Grey Cup.

The proposed tenth CFL franchise for Halifax, which could start in 2021, would be called the Atlantic Schooners.

Former players for Montana, EWU and MSU all played key roles for Calgary. Great to see them playing nicely together.xlolx

Former Temple OL Derek Dennis is the starting LT for Calgary. He's become one of, if not the best offensive lineman in the CFL. Good stuff for all!!!
