Among these reforms include saying goodbye to one-and-done (as long as the NBA and its players association cooperate fully), undrafted players who left school early can return to college, independent third-party enforcement for major infractions in place, a five-year postseason ban for even a Level I infraction, along with a lifetime show-cause order for the head coach, a new summer basketball model (with the NBA, NBAPA and USAB's help), and even academic fraud handling.

I think that they should go to the baseball model. Either go right after high school or wait until after your junior year. So many of these players declare for the draft and their stats were worse than mine. This one and done thing is idiotic.

Only 1 out every 20 will actually stay in the NBA for 5 years, and maybe 1 in 100 will become stars. Ben Simmons is the only notable one.

Simple solution to one and done?

Make the scholarship count against the school until the player uses 4 years of eligibility or graduates with a legitimate degree. If the scholarship isn't available for a replacement when the player leaves, the coach has to weigh the impact of bringing in a one and done player (or 5 like Kentucky seems to do annually).

Eliminate 1 & done and move the 3 point line to NBA distance and I’ll consider watching more than just the tourney in NCAA Men’s hoops again. Grew up in NC as a crazy college basketball fan. Can’t stand to watch it now...other then March Madness

It is interesting that the commission recommended that the NCAA pay the tuition for athletes at academically-challenged institutions so that they can complete their educations after the athletes use up their eligibility. My personal feeling is that these academically-challenged (not challenging) schools shouldn't by sponsoring D-I sports.

Unfortunately, i think one-and-done will be around for a while unless the NBA steps in. Punishing an institution for bringing in the best high school players they can find will make recruiting difficult for the big-time teams. I like the idea of a professional minor league system, but the reality is that one-and-done at a big time program has many advantages such as playing in front of 20,000-25,000 screaming fans on national television and access to many coeds.

The NCAA's recent basketball announcement is nothing but grandstanding. Allowing "elite" high school players to hire agents before their senior year is ridiculous. Will the agents negotiate the best kick-back deals for their players?

Is it the school that is academically challenged or is it the athlete?

How did the universities find the talent when they didnt have all of these tournaments?

They had to recruit better and harder.

Hard to muster up much sympathy for the guy who is going to lose his tournament that he charges coaches for access. He is upset he is losing his meal ticket.

One and done is a farce....these programs don’t even Pretend to be a serious educational institution. For every one and done, two and done, etc., that leaves school to declare for the draft should be a loss of a scholarship.
