Who do you think will win the SLC in 2018.

Yeah we don't have a great deal of information on the teams yet but this will be fun to look back on when the season is over. xlolx

You can state why you think they will win it also if you like.

I only had room for 10 teams so I combined HBU and UIW...if you think either of them will win it then please follow up with a comment so we know which one.

My best guess is either SHSU or SFA. I'm leaning to SFA because SHSU lost a good cog in their offense at QB..much like UCA did. Nicholls, SLU and McNeese would be my second tier likely teams to win it followed by UCA and the rest.

I got the opportunity to watch many of the UCA practices and scrimmages, so I think they MAY do better than where I just placed them but not enough to move forward above them.

I picked SHSU because they almost always win it since no one is up for challenging them any given year. In the off chance a McNeese or UCA beats them for the championship one year, SHSU still manages to out stage them in the postseason and cheapen their regular season title.

They're the NDSU of the SLC. Until someone actually beats them, it's not really worth talking about any other outcome.

I am going to be a little different and vote SLU. Their offense was very potent last year and if they keep that up, as well as improve their defense, they will be a force in 2018. I don't think SFA will put it together and they may still have some critical injuries if I was reading right. SHSU is the obvious choice and I think they very well can IF their lost cogs got replaced right and they improved their defense. Either way I think 2018 will be an interesting year.

Good points. SHSU has won/shared the title 4 times in the last 8 years. But I wouldn't go as far as calling them the NDSU of the SLC. I mean they have been in the conference since 1987 and have 7 shared/won SLC titles. NDSU has accomplished a bit more than that...xlolx

This is an accurate statement.

Nicholls because they are returning a lot from their good team last year, I think they have a really good staff, plus they are peaking at the right time with Sam and UCA having to retool from their losses.

This may be the most competitive season in a long time. I think there are at least 4 teams that could be battling for a playoff spot by the end of the year. Watch out for ACU.

I think both SHSU and UCA lost a big cog in their offenses to repeat.

Nicholls, SFA, and McNeese have the best chance IMO.

SHSU, UCA, and SLU next.

ACU, Lamar next

HBU, NWST, and UIW lastly.

Nicholls had the better rounded team last year and I kept going back and forth between them and SLU. How much heat is McNeese going to bring is my question.

Watch out for is spot on. We have enough talent to play the spoiler but not enough depth at key positions to make a serious title run. But if you Catch us on a day when we are healthy and we get the match ups we want, we can bite you. Give us another year and we should be good enough to make a serious bid for the playoffs. This year, I hope we break even.

SHSU. Total homer vote. Doh!

Nicholls (if they've truly turned the corner) or UCA as best bets to challenge this. McNeese and SELU as next best after that.
