Now that rosters for the 2005 season are being released by schools, I thought that it was a good idea to see what transfers schools received during the offseason.

JMU has five incoming transfers new to the team in 2005. The JMU Dukes' football roster will now have a total of eight transfers.

JMU's 2005 Transfers:
- Joey Atkins, Quarterback, Redshirt-Sophomore, Kent State
- Chris Hawkins, Wide Receiver, Junior, NC State
- Phil Minafield, Safety, Junior, Hutchinson JC
- Mike Parham, Offensive Guard, Redshirt-Junior, Virginia Tech
- Rowdy Rudd, Linebacker, Redshirt-Sophomore, Towson/Independence JC

JMU's 2004 Transfers:
- Michael Brown, Linebacker, Redshirt-Sophomore, Virginia Tech
- Robbie Catterton, Safety, Junior, Virginia
- Justin Rascati, Quarterback, Redshirt-Junior, Louisville

Haslon doesn't count as a transfer - he never matriculated at Purdue so in reality he was never a Purdue student (I think he signed a LOI but never ended up attending the school)- I believe he's a gray shirt (player who did not go to school the year after his high school senior year).

GF is correct he's technically a gray shirt.

There are 5 other guys on the roster that were former transfers:

David Boler - WR - USC
Joe Bleymaier - WR - Arizona St
Sonny Riccio - QB - Missouri
Rachid Stoury - DL West Virginia
Mark Zambrano - LB - E Michigan

You may only have a few but most contribute and get the pub. As goes the media goes the rep.

actually it was more of concern and disappointment at the fact that two brothers were not allowed to enjoy playing a year of college ball together ... brings a tear to the eye.

and, c'mon chickenman, that was clearly an attempt to get under the skin of UD fans who already expressed so much frustration at his name brought up every time a transfer discussion about UD is around. Don't ruin my fun here!

It's OK Fordham, if you still feel bad I'm sure Shawn will show you his ring. Actually, Shawn's younger brother Eric( I think that's his name), is a FR-LB on our roster.

I hesitate to post this, because the Delaware fans are going to come at my neck, but Villanova has a I-A transfer this year, an OL from Duke. He didn't see any PT during his frosh year at Duke.

Dude, you are freakin' hilarious. :nonono2:

Maybe you should spend some more time thinking about your own team especially since the Bobcats haven't had a winning season in 5 years. xlolx

Your program is still playing under .500 since you started the program back in 1912! Come on why are you picking out only 5 years!!!

I think that's it.

With Kent Briggs health this summer, the football staff has been very hush hush. Rumors have been floating around about some QB's and WR's but no names have been thrown out. Also a possible CB from UConn.

The only official transfer right now is.
OL Mark Burgess - JR - 6-5/295 - Odessa, FL (Tulane)

"Why pick out only 5 years" the bobcat fan asks...because recent history is what matters, my friend!

Who the hell cares what happened back in 1912? Come on man! You guys need to get over the fact that our transfers have worked out much better than your GODLY QB from the University of Houston. Every single one of these guys could have chosen TSU over Sam, but wait...it's because your coach won't accept them, right?

What's going to be your excuse with Noah Allen? What about Reevers? Are you guys ever going to get over the fact that we had a record-breaking QB transfer to SH for ONE YEAR?? Big deal...bottom line is...WE BEAT YOU & WERE ONE WIN AWAY FROM THE NATIONAL TITLE GAME???

USC redshirt freshman defensive back Trent Usher is planning to transfer to Coastal Carolina according to reliable sources. Usher was one of several Gamecock players to receive a letter from head coach Steve Spurrier that indicated their scholarship was in jeopardy. The paper work regarding Usher's transfer is still being completed. He will be eligible to play immediately at Coastal.
