Another FCS vs FBS game..

Texas Southern will play the University of Texas - El Paso. This is the second time they've played UTEP in recent memory.

TxSo has an open date to fill in November, 10th or 17th, unless they've already filled it. Can't recall if they had or not.

Guess this means a date against the Univ of Houston is out...unless they moved around a SWAC date...

Correction: 3rd time (2001, 2005, 2007)

09-08-2001 - UTEP 52-6 TxSo
11-12-2005 - UTEP 45-0 TxSo

2001 seems like a distant memory! Thanks for the correction, 3rd Coast. What are the chances of the Tigers playing the Univ of Houston? Saw that it wouldn't work unless you folks played in November.

With our AD, you never know what will happen. I've given up on him a long time ago.

Texas Southern is playing the Univ of Houston on November 24th...

What a weird time to play an FCS vs FBS game.

Texas Southern has two FBS opponents on the slate to go along with their nine SWAC mandated games...

that leaves 3 SWAC teams with schedules remaining to be finalized.

University of Texas El Paso and University of Houston as non conference opponents.

Now that's one helluva pay... I mean out of conference schedule.

I'll be honest, I'm curious what type of guarantee money is at stake. I can't believe either one would be giving the Tigers very much scratch.

I doubt the Univ of Houston is any higher than $175,000 or $200,000, especially for an opponent that has no expenses what so ever outside of busing to the game.

UTEP probably isn't much more than $200,000 themselves...are the Tigers going to bus or fly there?
