PHILADELPHIA - Even with a late rally and strong pitching throughout, Penn (5-15, 1-3 Ivy) tumbled in its home opener against fellow Ivy League foe Dartmouth (5-12, 1-0 Ivy), dropping a narrow 5-4 decision to the Big Green. The Quakers' offense failed to produce much of anything until an explosive sixth frame closed Dartmouth's four-run gap to just one, but an eighth-inning run from the Big Green proved the decisive score as Penn was unable to sufficiently answer in its final two at-bats.
