The full class hasn't been announced yet, but some signings and committments are starting to trickle in.
Coach Joe Walton has found at least one running back that could start off the bat for the Colonials this year. Thing is, Walton nearly lost him to Pitt and Richmond, to name a few.
But Myles Russ is coming to Robert Morris, adding to a litany of Florida players that make the trek north to play for Coach Joe. Russ led his West Boca Raton High School team to a 9-2 record and was named the Florida Sun Sentinel's football player of the year. "Russ rushed 171 times for 1,722 yards in 11 games. He led the county's large-school players in rushing yards, yards per carry (10.1), yards per game (156.5) and rushing touchdowns (17)" http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/highschool/football/palm/sfl-acsppbbigfootpoy19dec20,0,3066711.story?coll=sfla-highschool-football-palm
Russ' knock is his size, and that helped turn him away from Pitt, who became kind of lukewarm on him. So it came down to basically Richmond and RMU.
Russ told the Palm Beach Post when he signed a week or so ago that RMU just presented the better offer. "Russ, the area's big schools leading rusher in 2006, chose Division I-AA Robert Morris over Richmond because the Colonials wanted him solely as a running back. "Robert Morris needed me more, I guess you could say, at the running back position," Russ said."

One other recruitment note: Colonials also captured QB/DB Rolf Bathold. The Naples (Florida again!) native committed the other day.
