OSU is #1 in the USA Today poll and #2 in the AP poll, but are they a #1 seed?

Honestly, are they better than UCLA, Wisconsin, UNC and Florida? I think not. They are a #2 seed in my mind and Joe Lunardi agrees with me. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
Just goes to show how broken the polling system is.

BTW, check this out

Appalachian St. 8:hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

they were talking about how App. St could be an at large seed now. But I agree Ohio St. lost to UNCh(be it without Oden) lost to Florida and lost to Wisconsin(though they have another shot), but i agree Ohio St CURRENTLY a 2 seed. A lot can happen between now and selection sunday.

OSU's team is still going through counseling trying to undo the psychological damage Florida did to them a few weeks ago.

You know, this is really starting to remind me of the bias we see in the football polls. How anybody can vote either OSU or Wisconsin above UF is a mystery. It will shake out come tournament time just like it always does.

I guarantee you if you ask any of those coaches who voted for those two programs who they'd rather play come tournament time- Wisconsin and OSU or UF- every one of 'em would choose the two Big 10 teams, not the defending champs.

I don't think the college BB poll system is broken. It's just not relevant since 65 teams make the field. The best teams will get in and the winner will be a deserving team.
This is in contrast to the FBS system, where polls determine the top two teams and a deserving team can be left out. Especially if they weren't ranked at the start of the season.

The reason that OSU and Wisconsin get the votes THIS week over Florida, is that neither one got hammered by Vanderbilt last week. :D

Actually, Vandy is a pretty good team - have beaten now 6 teams that were ranked at the time.

Did lose to FURMAN and App St :nono: But the Vandy win is looking better and better for ASU's resume.

as pointed out, since florida lost they "had" to drop them, people would start arguing about how a team could lose and not drop etc. But would there be much debate if Ohio St. stayed at #1 and didnt get a 1 seed?
