...yet, all Mel Kiper wanted to talk about was the great week of practice the FBS quarterbacks had.....what happened on Saturday didn't matter, to him.......just an indirect slap and snub of Kyle L.... xstfux

So trying to feel better about the clinic he put on my ISUr in the 1st half of our 2015 playoff game .. aint helping much, but it's something I suppose.
In 1st qtr alone, he faced 3rd and long 4 times:
- 3rd and 18, completed 35 yard pass
- 3rd and 6, completed 34 yard pass
- 3rd and 10, completed 30 yard pass
- 3rd and 7, completed 30 yard pass
We settled down a bit after that, but struggled playing from behind and on our heels.
Conclusion ... clearly, we owned this guy on 1st and 2nd down !!!!!!!!!

Lauletta,as a sophomore, was definitely in the zone that night. The big surprise was that our D was stout by shutting down the heralded Redbird running game.

there was that too .. once or twice a year, someone figured out our OL and run attack .. and we had no answer in run game against your defensive stunts. They finally let QB Roberson (who had played half the season with broken throwing hand) cut loose in 2nd half, and he lit it up .. but it was too little too late.
Your coaches out game planned us was my take on situation. That and we were not really deserving of a 2 seed in 2015 .. we lost a little too much from our 2014 team on both offense and defense. But Lauetta took advantage of our pass defense for sure .. especially that 1st quarter.

Great performance by Kyle! Very impressed by his play on Saturday. Surely that will improve his draft stock.
Interesting to note that Lauletta shares the same hometown as Matt Ryan (Exton, PA) and played at the same high school (Downingtown East) as former Delaware standout Pat Devlin. Lots of good QBs from the area, as Matt Schaub is from the next town over.

Adding to that interesting note: Downingtown split their High School about 14 years ago (East and West) - in that 14 years - East has had 3 Lauletta brothers (all of them good - youngest one quarterbacked the team this year) Throw in Pat Devlin and they have had an amazing run of quarterbacks at that high school - an embarrassment of riches at QB!
Unfortunately my kids go to West :)

Great week of practice that doesn't translate to game performance should be downplayed, not celebrated.
Helmet-head at his stupid best.

not quite true .. the practice week really allows you to get a close look at players, much moreso than a "all star" like game where players are playing in gerry rigged offensive systems and with team mates they barely know. The game does not reflect a whole lot, other than another data point for the entire week. When coaches and scouts tell you the practice week is very important .. I'd believe them.

The game isnt as important as the week of practice. They arent practicing to make the team better. They practice because the scouts want to see individual player improvement based on the instructions the players have been given.. Im not saying from day to day either. They want to see improvement from one practice to the next.
These allstar games havent been about whose got the best team for many many years.

Lauletta has what most pro teams look for in a QB. He has enough mobility to get out of trouble and a rocket arm with pinpoint accuracy. I expect him to have a successful pro carreer.
