Sorry if nobody posted this here before... but it is really interesting indeed. He didn't even play varsity football in HS. But here he is now, having won the Harlon Hill in 2017.

Perez tore us up in the regional finals in Mankato. He dumped the ball off, threw the wide receiver screens and then threw deep when our d-backs came up. We had the lead but couldn't hold it- gave us our only loss and gave them the national title. Well deserving of the Harlon Hill.

I wonder how many promising players have missed out on opportunities because their high schools ran offensive and defensive schemes that didn't play to their strengths.
Even at FCS level, coaches have mismanaged talent. Van Gorder was run off from Georgia Southern for taking the best runner (QB) on the team and moving him to wide receiver.
