We've added at least two and possibly a couple of more on the defensive side of the ball ... we shall see.

Also added Devonte Williams, 5'9, 180, RB, U of Indiana - RB/KR with over 1,500 return yards - also started 2 games at CB as true freshman

I don't have a link, but during the Kansas at West Virginia basketball game last night the ESPN crawl line said that the Alabama player who was penalized and then shoved one of his own coaches on the sidelines is transferring to Tennessee State.

Had almost 4,000 yards of total offense and over 33 TDs in high school.

Did not see any action at UT, except for one snap against San Jose State, wants to play.

Very athletic and also plays WR.

Looks like a nice Grad Transfer pickup for Mercer. Stats from MiamiU seem to indicate he was a regularly-playing backup at LB as a R-FR & at DE for the next 2 years. At 6-1/245, he was probably viewed as a “Tweener” in the MAC. Looking at his MiamiU highlights, I think he likes playing with his hand on the ground, so I imagine we’ll see him as a DE in Mercer’s 3-4 alignment. That said, I believe he could also play the OLB role for Mercer as the similarly-sized Kyle Williams did for the Bears for 4 years. Also, I may be committing SoCon blasphemy here, but when I look at these highlights, the comparison that comes to my mind - in terms of speed, aggressiveness, and ‘motor’ - is Davis Tull, former Chatt.
