On top of that I think LB Dan Marlette and OT Dillon Radunz were on their way to being permanent starters before season ending injuries so that'll definitely help offset the two position groups affected the most (OL and LB which lose 2 starters each).

Yep, Conner was slated to move to LG I believe when the season started. That's how impressed they were with Radunz through spring ball and fall camp so with Messner being done I'd say that has a very high probability of happening this year. For the other OL spot vacated by Kuhnert there should be more of an open competition. I'd like to see the little Volson (the one who's 6'6" 299 xlolx) get in there since the two young OTs they have, Radunz and Johnson, look like they'll be anchors on each end of the line for a while.

You do realize that if your computer is on your work server proxy's don't solve **** in terms of them knowing what you're doing? Proxy's block your IP to the world. Not the system you're hard wired into.

I can proxy around my works block on Netflix...they still know I'm on netflix.

Also, employeers find it suspicious if your PC all of a sudden disapears from the network if using VPN and proxy's.

Tried it once, just to see. Got a call within 20 minutes asking why I was on a VPN. My PC is 90 miles from our IT department

One thing some of you guys might want to keep in mind with your replies etc. is that these FCS Discussion threads have a very different set of parameters and culture on the things we broach in them. These threads are open to anyone and everyone at that includes many school or .edu peoples that work in or at schools we talk about and they may even be in Athletic Depts. etc. so when you are on the FCS board give you best effort on dropping the Cocks, dicks, and other **** talk if you can. It makes life easier on me and also on many of our friends that have parameters on their abilities to view things around here. I didn't even bring up the younger folks that might be looking in since it can be seen without being logged in on AGS.

BTW, I ain't ever seen a penny from Casey's either.

Well to make the divisions even you obviously need to add a member. Murray St? Eastern Illinois? Maybe if the Idaho drop goes well and other crap FBS schools drop, pick them up (Most MAC Schools)? None of these seem like good options at all. Looking at possible divisions as is (including UND), you would have a division with all of the Dakotas, UNI and maybe WIU in one division. On the other side you have many of the lower tier schools, save Youngstown. So East West doesn’t work. Maybe North South? You would still have most of the Dakotas and UNI. The only way divisions really work is to do what the BIG did a few years back with the stupid “legends” and “leaders” divisions. Maybe that way? I just doesn’t make sense. But I think that would be the best fit if you had to do it.

I think having the "you didn't play team X in your conference" argument thrown out there is a much better alternative to the "your conference didn't play any OOC FCS games because of your 9/10 game conference schedule" argument. The SLC going to a 9 game conference schedule essentially meant they had, on average, less than one OOC FCS opponent per team in their conference.

IMO in a perfect world no conferences would have more than 9 teams so everyone could play each other within their own conference each year and still play 3 OOC games but, if that can't be possible, I'm firmly in the camp that each conference should have 8 conference games at most so we don't get schedules that are so insulated within their own conference (since almost every team needs to play an FBS game and a lot of teams play D2 games for a cheap home game).

Had an entire year long class in middle school devoted to simply Iowa history - as I'm sure each state does for just their state. I'm sure no one outside of Iowa and maybe SW Minnesota has heard of the Spirit Lake Massacre in the 1850s which lead to the Sioux Uprising in the 1860s in Minnesota. That is a very important event/time in the settling in Iowa/Minnesota/South Dakota. No impact to anyone outside but we studied it.

Most interesting classes were history classes about the plains regions.

I'm sure no one outside of Iowa and maybe SW Minnesota has heard of the Spirit Lake Massacre in the 1850s which lead to the Sioux Uprising in the 1860s in Minnesota. That is a very important event/time in the settling in Iowa/Minnesota/South Dakota. No impact to anyone outside but we studied it.

It's where we live. We didn't study the history of the Southeast beyond the basics of **** leading to the civil war. We didn't study Gulf History or Arizona history. Sure we touched on them but that wasn't a focus.

I was actually looking through parts of the collection over Christmas break for a cookbook that came from the Abby in Richardton, ND. Mom had a copy of it and I was trying to track down another copy or see if it was reprinted.

No, but I really didn't spend too much time on it. Was hoping the Diocese would have at least a reprint of it, as it was listed on their church website. Just haven't got around to making some phone calls yet. And even if they do have it, probably will be an updated version which I am not really interested in (The copy I am after was printed in 1981). If I have to, I will just have the thing copied and bound professionally.

Well, there's some info in this thread from ORU's message board: https://forum.orusports.com/index.php?/topic/1248-chicago-state-is-gone/ (also, it's an interesting read from a time shortly before the Dakotas joined the conference).
The "gist" of it is that they were essentially "asked to leave" due to a combination of low academics, investigation into possible NCAA violations, and very low support of most of their athletics teams.
Pretty much everyone in the conference was happy to see them go.

Really, at this point, considering their financial situation, enrollment, location...they should just drop to the NAIA level and play in the Chicagoland Collegiate conference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicagoland_Collegiate_Athletic_Conference
They'd save a metric s***-ton on travel costs, scholarships, and they could be competitive. Plus, they were in that conference up until 1980.
Either that or go DIII and petition the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to let them join (it's the nearest DIII conference with public schools in it).

At 8am you realized you ordered Deeks at 3am and you're like "damn, drunk [insert your name] was looking out for me today, I got to give him some credit." You then proceed to take about 3 bites and feel better. However, you being to realize that cold pizza is not sitting well and the liquor is saying, "time to find the nearest exit" and then run for the garbage to puke and rally, and then continue to eat that pizza. Unfortunately, for you, you were to damn drunk to put it in the fridge so you realize you just ate pizza that was sitting out for the last 5hrs. This is when you contemplate should you continue to eat it and you say, "Hell yeah I am going to eat It! If I spent 25 dollars to not die from a lack of food, I don't care how long this sat out, I'm not wasting 25 dollars to eat 4 slices with that 5th one half eaten laying in the box still." The problem is a few hours later, the cheese became contaminated and you get food poisoning and have to run for the garbage. The good news is, you see in the fridge a nice cold one and use to to refresh your fluids and think, "damn this tastes great! I think I will have another," just to start the vicious cycle all over again.

That is when it is acceptable to eat cold pizza.

I have found that the quality of the pizza has a huge bearing on how to warm up a cold za. If its a crappy za with mealy cheese I use a frying pan to crisp up the crust and then put it under the broiler. If its a good za frying pan for the crust and cover the pan. If that doesnt get it up to temp a short shot on the nuke brings the temp where it needs to be.

Daves Pizza in Bemidji has great pizza. Its also the best cold pizza to eat and is the best to reheat that Ive found.

Eating cold lasagna, from a texture standpoint, would be like eating the guts of a dead guy, not even kidding. Not that I have eaten the guts of a dead guy, but cold pasta is disgusting.

It’s not. The worst part, from a texture standpoint, is actually the meat.

I’ve got no problem throwing pizza in the oven to reheat it, but cold is just fine.

it's not often culinary common sense and pizza collide in any post/thread about pizza on this entire forum. But this is the only way to eat leftover pizza. Clenz and i have disagreed before, but his latest post on how to serve leftover pizza was the most offensive to date. His further comment on lasagna is proof of this.

Just put the stupid thing in the oven at about 400 degrees for 10 minutes, and let it reheat the way it should. If the pizza could talk, it would thank you.

Do you eat cold spaghetti and mean sauce? If not, why not, it sounds like you will eat cold macaroni and mayo. For the record, I have eaten pasta salads but generally avoid them like the plague. But I eat a lot of other stuff that would probably gross other people out so to each his own.

So the best thing about Chicago Pizza, is not simply "Chicago Style" deep dish or stuffed pizza. The best thing is we do a wide variety of pizza styles depending on your tastes ... and none of them casserole like in any way. We have Thin, Super Thin (no, not flat bread), Thick, Rustic, Deep Dish, and Stuffed (noth 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 inch). Our Thin and Super Thin crusts actually hold firm. not that droopy crap they like so much in NY.

Some recommended samples from Chicago area are below .. and none of which will disappoint.

I actually like deep dish pizza if it is done right, it is all about the toppings instead of being focused on the crust but to me, it isn't really pizza, to me, pizza should be something you can eat with your hands and not have to use utensils.
Any chicago pizza can be eaten with hands only ... the crust should hold up. Now if you put a bunch of veggies on any pizza, it will get soggy .. stick to basics and the crust will hold up.

I honestly have no idea. I have had them both with and without tater tots. Seems to depend on where one grew up as to what you called them.
