In just 12 months, VanGorder went from being hailed as resurrector of the Statesboro school's once proud program to a villain who bolted after one 3-8 season to become the Falcons' linebackers coach instead of working through the radical changes he implemented.
I enjoyed going to work there every day, and I really found my way with the pro player and that transition was a comfortable transition for me," VanGorder said about his experience with Jacksonville. "I like the fact that you were really dealing with football on a daily basis and the job was to get players ready for Sunday.
I thought he was hired to deal with football on a daily basis and get players ready for Saturdays. What do I know.:twocents:
