This RB would have a better chance to start at DSU.

DOVER -- Syracuse University kick return specialist Kareem Jones is considering transferring to Delaware State following a visit to DSU last weekend, his high school coach said Tuesday.

Jones, a 5-foot-11, 211-pound sophomore, is seeking a transfer because of reduced playing time at Syracuse, Lansingburgh (N.Y.) High football coach Pete Porcelli said.

Jones, who rushed for nearly 2,600 yards as a high school senior, visited DSU last weekend with his father, Will Jones, and met with Hornets coaches. The Hornets are looking to add to their corps of running backs.

"He's a great kid and very great running back," said Porcelli, who said Jones also is considering Hampton University, a rival of DSU in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Jones has two years of eligibility left.

The Hornets, 8-3 last season, are in dire need of a proven running back after losing 1,280-yard rusher Emmanuel Marc to graduation.

I liked what I saw of Hampton's backup RBs last season. You should be fine, even without the impressive Mr. Alonzo Coleman back there. Anyone know how good Kareem Jones is? Can he make an impact at Delaware State this season?
