SHSU didn't come to NDSU in 2015. We had Montana, Northern Iowa and Richmond that year.

The only team to do worse was Montana I believe. 2014 (regular season) Lost 22-10; 2015 (playoffs) Lost 37-6. In between, NDSU traveled to Montana in 2015 regular season opener and got beat 38-35.

Hard not to root for Lindsey based off the way he carries himself and his team. His interview last year was a class act and I am surprised he has not left to go coach a different team (but I'd love to go vist SD sometime), but if he can get the talent out there with no scholarships and win games, then hats off to them.

Well I am not honestly certain what to expect this year in playoffs, the team has not been the pound you in the ground like years not so long ago. Lot of that goes with the offense, I feel like it is mostly Stick and Messingham. That string of games with multiple interceptions really has my head shaking. The few diehards that I converse with (outside of Fargo area) are pretty nervous and cautious about this years team. This years scenario reminds of 2011-2012 teams when the fans knew there was a shot but didn't know. 2013-15 I can say that I became spoiled and almost took it for granted. Last year I was thoroughly shocked by JMU as I thought it was a given we would be back in Frisco.

The may seem like it is easy but I have realized that I shouldn't take it for granted anymore...

San Diego looked very good against NDSU last year. Their coach (Dave Lindsey) is awesome and that goes a long way.

NDSU punted twice and averaged almost 10 yards/carry. If the Bison do not pound them with the running game again then Mess is out to lunch. USD will have to pass the ball to move the chains, they passed it 40 times last year and I suspect they will have to again. USD moved the ball when NDSU was in conservative, prevent mode. USD had a nice win last night but NAU's defense is pathetic....I think NDSU's might be a little better.

Why does it matter how much I post? I am an NDSU team maker/season ticket holder but not an in your face sort of guy like some of the posters from NDSU...

I come here to read about other teams and FCS in general as I really don't follow much outside of the MVFC honestly. This game is going to be a good one but the NDSU D line is pretty aggressive compared to NAU.

I don't know about that. San Diego is certainly for real. They are in a class by themselves in the PFL. They are 16-0 in league play the last 2 years. They have lost 5 conference games in the last 7 seasons.

I think everyone watching is a San Diego fan right now, but they are heads and shoulders about the rest of that league.

Well I am not honestly certain what to expect this year in playoffs, the team has not been the pound you in the ground like years not so long ago. Lot of that goes with the offense, I feel like it is mostly Stick and Messingham. That string of games with multiple interceptions really has my head shaking. The few diehards that I converse with (outside of Fargo area) are pretty nervous and cautious about this years team. This years scenario reminds of 2011-2012 teams when the fans knew there was a shot but didn't know. 2013-15 I can say that I became spoiled and almost took it for granted. Last year I was thoroughly shocked by JMU as I thought it was a given we would be back in Frisco.

The may seem like it is easy but I have realized that I shouldn't take it for granted anymore...


Every year is different. NDSU fans might expect 30 blowouts every game but that will not happen. Run the ball and play good defense is a good recipe for success. We'll see on Saturday how they do.
