As for the crown jewel of the facilities enhancement project, the new Kidd Brewer Stadium athletics complex, demolition of the current KBS press box will begin next week, which will allow for the construction of the new building to commence in the coming months. Since just days after the Mountaineers' national semifinal victory over Youngstown State, necessary preparations for the demolition of the press box have been in progress, including the removal of all fixtures and equipment, asbestos removal and the vast job of rerouting thousands of electrical and telephone cables.

It's not just a new press box. But the plan is to be ready by 2008 football season.
Kidd Brewer Stadium Complex
• Strength and Conditioning room for all student-athletes
• Training/Hydrotherapy room for all student-athletes
• Student-athlete study hall and tutorial space
• Locker rooms
• New stadium entrance plaza — “Welcome to The Rock”
• Athletics offices
• 20 stadium suites
• New Chancellor’s suite
• VIP Club seating
• New press box for media and game operations
• Restroom, concessions and merchandise areas
• Greenwood Parking Lot access trail
• West side entrance bridge
Indoor Athletics Facility
• Located in right field of current baseball venue
• 80 X 60 yard artificial field
• Taping and changing rooms
• Stairway connecting to Kidd Brewer Stadium west gate

Y'all need to build a moving sidewalk! I parked at the bottom of the hill on the home side last time and for a Lowcountry boy that was ONE HELL of a walk UP to the stadium!

It's getting colder and supposed to start raining with a change to sleet or freezing later. And it's very foggy out - pea soup variety. :D

It is very crummy weather right now and low visibility. The weather doesn't look great this whole week, I hope it won't delay the process.

I can't figure out why so many people want to see indoor plumbing at an outdoor stadium. I mean sheesh, the place is surrounded by trees.
we should take up a collection to get an anygivensaturday.com brick in the entrance plaza.

NC State has a website called brentroad.com, it is there unofficial student forum. They also have a tunnel similar to the tunnel at app. Every semester, at various times, they paint and even draw in chalk on the ground and sidewalk surrounding. If you see a website plastered in 100 different places around campus, you can't help but be curious and check it out

Finally work has begun. Two cranes on site as of 2-19-06, Word is that the pressbox will not be inploded due to the experence wake forest had a month ago when they brougt their press box down causing damage to the upper levels of the stadium.

I remember former Appalachian football player John Hollar showing up in the pressbox during home games in the 1990s. I remember him wearing sansabelt slacks and spot-bilt cleats. He would take notes during the game on a little notepad. I also remember looking forward to the Bojangles chicken and biscuits served in the pressbox, especially if I had a hangover from the night before.
