The UPA College Championships of ultimate frisbee will be played on Memorial Day weekend in Corvallis, OR. Who are the top prospects from I-AA schools?

In the open division Brown is ranked 3rd in the country and look to be the top team out of the New England Region. More Ivies Dartmath (#24) and Harvard (#25) have cracked the top 25 and will compete for a spot in the big show.

A-10 teams William & Mary (#42) and Richmond (#43) are among the favorites in the competative Atlantic Coast region.

Last year Delaware, Brown and Wm. & Mary qualified for the Championship tourney.

Other I-AA teams with rankings as of April 12...
#47 Penn (Metro East)
#54 Delaware (Metro East)
#56 Southwest Missouri State (South)
#66 UMass (New England)
#79 Cornell (Metro East)

For the Women's Division Brown was the only I-AA school to qualify for the Championships. It would be surprising for a non Ivy League school to make it this year, but Delaware and Bucknell have done so in previous years - both have a chance to do it again this spring.

Ultimate & College Football Trivia....

From Ultimate: The First Four Decades
"On November 6, 1972, Rutgers and Princeton met in the first intercollegiate Ultimate Frisbee game in history. The teams played on the 103rd anniversary of the first meeting between the schools' football teams - which had been considered the first intercollegiate football game in history. The Ultimate game was acutally played at the same site as the 1869 game, now a paved parking lot..."
