2017 FCS Playoff At Large Eligibility (Version 4)

I compiled a list of FCS teams still capable of reaching 7 Division 1 wins this season. Although 7 wins is no longer the official plateau for at-large selection, it is highly unlikely a 6-5 team will be selected. The list is for reference only, and is not meant to predict the probability of the teams selected. It will be updated weekly, as teams are eliminated, or teams secure their conference auto-bid.

Teams are organized by conference, although Ivy League teams are not included since their conference does not participate in the FCS playoffs. MEAC teams are listed since their second place team could still theoretically receive a playoff berth; only Alcorn State from the SWAC is listed, since all other teams are eliminated, or have schedule conflicts.

I don't think that's new. Both teams are not playing their first game in the second round - only one of them is (never understood that wording).

That's not even possible, right? The first round is two teams against each other, so in the second round only the seeded team is playing their first game...it's not possible for the non-seeded team to be playing their first game...unless the other team forfeits or something...but even then I think it still counts as a game, "legally" speaking.

The NCAA calls the score 1-0 and counts it as a game.

It doesn't count towards games played though, I don't think. It would be tough to have a kid lose a redshirt because a team forfeit a game against them.

Whether Lehigh is conference champs or not it is impossible that they receive an At-Large bid. It's the auto or nothing, hence their elimination.
