Many Arkansans have been disgusted with the direction the Hogs program, specifically football, for a while. Now the sportswriter from the only statewide newspaper agrees.

That ran this morning, and obviously coach Nutt crapped himself and just called ole' Wally up. He then proceded to cry like a little girl and point fingers and deny everything. What a piece of work.:bawling: xidiotx

This a.m. on the buzz it was Tommy Smith. He's worked at every station in town. He's a "has been". He is a great butt-kisser though.

Wally Hall pretty much sat back and listened to HDN, thanked him for calling in and said he stood by what he wrote.

"If Broyles does not make an announcement by Friday -- and he's been unavailable -- the situation could be less pleasant. A majority of the board is prepared to remove Broyles as athletic director and speak after the executive session about the reasons."

1 down, 2 to go. Athletic Director Frank Broyles has been canned after 50 years. His "golden child" head football coach will last till the end of this year, tops. And head basketball coach Stan Heath? He's got to be the sorriest excuse of a SEC coach ever. He'll probably be gone before Houstons sorry @ss is.xlolx xlolx xlolx xlolx

For whatever problems Arkansas had off the field last season, Houston Nutt's team won the SEC West, played in the SEC championship game and then played in a major bowl game. For a program that hasn't been all that good since Broyles stepped down as coach, I can't see a coach being fired with the success that Nutt has had. Unless the Hogs really take a tumble next year, why would Nutt be fired? After reading the SI article, it sounds like the Arkansas inmates are running the asylum.

Arkansas basketball, on the other hand, hasn't been very good since Nolan Richardson left.

The problem with Nutt is that he consistently says one thing and does another. Also, the 2 head coaches before him were fired for underachieving and they had better overall records than Nutt does. 1 good year out of 10 is not what the Hog fans expect. "Springdalegate" was the straw that broke the back of fan support for this coach. Again, Wally REALLY summed up a lot of fans feelings with his article

Arkansas' athletic dept. has been dysfunctional for quite as long as Broyles has been there. He was the cancer in that colon. Maybe they'll get a good AD from outside the good ol' boy network that will know how to run an athletic dept. at a major university. Houston Nutt might be a weenie, but he was not the problem at Arkansas.

Not official yet.....But don't be surprised if Stan Heath is clearing out his desk THE DAY the Hogs get back from the SEC tournament.xprost2x

IU never was a Heath fan. Waters builds a great program at Kent and then move son to Rutgers, a marginal BE program. Heath takes over for Waters and then gets the Arkansas job? Garbage. Riding Waters coattails got Heath a much better job than Waters. Waters was a hot coahc, couldn;t turn Rutgers around, and now if at Cleveland St. Sad when that happens.

Coach Nutt's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. That's a lot of text messaging he did to that woman. No wonder his wife has filed.xnonox

This ran in the Arkansas Times today. It sums up the feelings of most fans regarding Frank Broyles, Houston Nutt(sack) and Stan Heath.

I can't say that I'm disappointed about the situation at Arkansas since I've been an LSU Tiger fan all my life. While it's not NEARLY as big an issue in Baton Rouge, I think the same thing has happenned on a smaller scale with the LSU baseball team after Skip Bertman retired from coaching to take over the AD duties. He picked a coach that no one wanted in the first place and he ran the program into the ground - or that at least is the impression amoung fans. Now they're trying to fix the problem and fans are not happy.
