New Hampshire @ James Madison - JMU is moving into the porous defense portion of its schedule.




For JMU to lose a conference game, it will take a team with some offensive fire power plus a fair amount of good fortune. For all the good defensive teams in the CAA this season, there is a shortage of offense. I'd say UNH, Richmond and Elon all have a punchers chance. I'd put SB at the top of the list, but they don't play the Dukes in the Regular Season this year.

While the likelihood of a win goes up for a team with a productive offense and a good QB, the likelihood of a JMU rolling up 50 points or higher also increases. Staying close would require an opponent to win the turnover and field position battles. UNH has done well in the turnover department, but has routinely been giving away big yardage in the kickoff and return department. It didn't hurt much against Bryant and Towson, it did against Stony Brook and it definitely would @ JMU.

JMU plays with patience, confidence and deep into its bench. They have an incredible ability to read what an opponent is doing and react with adjustments. And they have the rested bodies to get the job done at the end of the game. They will be a big favorite the rest of the way in all their regular season games, but a complete team like JMU won't lose to a team that can't score points - you just won't keep them off the board all game. It will be interesting to see them vs teams who have repeatedly put up yardage and points.

JMU - Hurts to say it, I'd love to eat crow on Sunday but I don't think that the youngsters from Durham have the D to stop the Dukes (maybe next year)

no, he’ll go somewhere but certainly not there. keep an eye on UNC. he’s from North Carolina and he has several UNC ties. i believe his first “job” was at UNC, before he was even a high school coach.
