Context: I was in grad school at Massachusetts through the 1990's

0-6 Georgia Southern 20
1-6 Massachusetts 55 (Whipple 2.0)

10-20 years ago this would have been pretty shocking xcoffeex

even worse, it was already 48-17 at halftime.

Reason #1 why many FCS teams who jump will never be successful in the FBS (G5 in particular.) The pool size is already large to begin with... xcoffeex

Some satisfaction and irony that the two wins for Massachusetts this season come against other former I-AA powers. :D

No sympathy for the most vile of the yankee race or south Georgia clayeaters.

Only reason I could see anyone wanting to go FBS is $$$. Play 3 prostitution games, an FCS game and 8 conference games. For many current FCS teams, you'd play as many winnable games, win as many championships, and get more money.
