How come UM's recruiting class is so small? Only 7 guys? everyone in the BSC has more plus UM is pretty much THE bigtime program in the Big Sky. I would think that a team that got so deep into the playoffs would help alot with recruiting. UMASS pulled in about 15 and SIU got a little over 20. Did they just not need that many new kids? They are going to have probably a better team this upcoming season than this season with Lex coming back.

no worries we only had 7 scholarships available. we only graduated around 7 guys and on offense only two starters graduated: swogger and our center jeff marshall. With injuries to guys who were seniors, like Lex and our punter, Tyson Johnson they came back as well. Really our entire team from last year is coming back healthier than last year. That's the reason for such a small class, just no one graduated.

Class size is always a function of available scholarships, end of story.

We've got a transfer from Idaho State coming to Montana this year. He can't play this year because of the transfer. He started 8 games as a true freshman at Safety for ISU and was their 7th leading tackler. He had 8 tackles against the Griz. He'll redshirt this year and have 3 years eligibilty left starting in 2008.

Safety Erik Stoll 6'2" 200 Lbs.

HS ... Lettered in football and track at Sandpoint High School ... was named his conference's Defensive Player of the Year, as well as First Team All-Conference at tight end ... was a First Team All-North Idaho pick on defense and a Second Team All-North Idaho pick on offense ... also was selected All-State in 2005 after recording 154 tackles and three interceptions.

Personal ... his parents are Bob and Heidi Stoll ... will major in pre-medicine ... his birthdate is April 26, 1987.

According to the Missoulian, we only had five scholarships to offer.

2007 should be a very good year for the Griz.

That's because two schollies went to Larson and Quinn who were already in the program. So we only had 5 unspoken for.

actually the real reason is we just took the top 5 recruits in the nation and then turned down the rest to give other schools a shot. we actually had the kids sold just by showing them wa-griz;)
