I was very impressed with Taylor Mays. Not only is he obviously very good running the ball he threw the ball very well. This was the same Bison defense that made Gage Gubrud look like a 3rd stringer. Mays had by far the best performance of any QB to play the Bison so far this year.

Completely agree with everything you said. However, as I said with last week's poll, I wasn't completely sold on YSU at the time, so I don't know if NDSU just kept it close with a top 10 team or a 15-20th ranked team.

This is the same D that made Payton finalist Gage Gubrud look completely inept so I tend to give credit to Mays moreso than **** on NDSU's defense. They definitely have a lot to work on but they'll get a chance to prove themselves again next week against a very good QB in WIU's Sean McGuire.

These guys lined up against pretty similar to what JMU did, teams can play man on our wide outs and stack the box. Our wide outs simply do not get separation, and if it hadn't been for Stick running the ball tonight, we would have been dead in the water, we are pretty thin at QB, I don't want to watch Stick having to run for 150 yards every night to make this offense go. Teams with good physical corners are going to give us a ton of problems.

Our wide outs simply do not get separation, and if it hadn't been for Stick running the ball tonight, we would have been dead in the water, we are pretty thin at QB, I don't want to watch Stick having to run for 150 yards every night to make this offense go. Teams with good physical corners are going to give us a ton of problems.

This is a real concern for the Bison, when 3rd and 7 comes YSU was bodying people up. Bison receivers not winning one on ones

I honestly have no idea how to rank teams 6-25. Not one clue. Every team is beating each other and those who are winning do not want to step into the top 5 for whatever reason and those that were in the 6-10 either lost, are losing badly, or barely won.

The problem with most Bison fans is that they don't realize how good the MVFC actually is. They seem to think that they are the MVFC and that if they weren't in the league the MVFC would be a terrible conference.

Once they started to use their smashmouth, up-the-gut playbook, the rest of the Valley was forced to step up their game. Sure UNI, SIU, and YSU were there, but once the xDSUs showed up and kicked everyone to the curb, SIU and YSU fell out and UNI hung on and the rest of the Valley slowly caught-up.

We also need to address our wide receiver situation but it probably isn't solvable. These guys lined up against pretty similar to what JMU did, teams can play man on our wide outs and stack the box. Our wide outs simply do not get separation...

Yep...The TV announcers even made the comment that the YSU secondary was playing our receivers in such a manner that they obviously didn't respect the receivers.

Yup, you and the Pod are spot on. We had the same issue last year....We played a damn good team tonight though. It's a good thing our QB ran for 174 because he only threw for 113.
