In the tradition of Ryne Sandberg, Fergie Jenkinson and Johnny Estrada, I predict (drum roll please).....

Now, this trade so thoroughly outrages me, that I think I may be willing to do jail time for assaulting Ed Wade if he pulls the trigger on this one. Anyone want to join me?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ed Wade trade Howard. They can't trade Thome... as no one wants a possibly washed up power hitter who makes huge $$$ and the Philly management doesn't have the guts to bench Thome's big salary and play Howard. Wade knows his job is on the line... so he may trade Howard... for god knows what... hoping that they can slip into the wildcard and maybe save his job. Keeping Howard... if he isn't playing doesn't help Wade save his job... so he just might trade away the Phil's future in a desparate attempt to save the present. If you're Ed Wade... why not? If you're sacked at the end of the year... does it really matter???
