Its been 3 weeks and currently the CAA is

19-2 in FCS OOC Hopefully 21-2 two weeks from now
One loss is Richmond to SHSU
Other loss is UNH to Holy Cross
(0-1) vs Southland
(6-0) vs MEAC
(4-1) vs Patriot
(2-0) vs SoConn
(3-0) vs NEC one game left Bryant at UNH
(2-0) vs IVY one game left URI at Brown
(2-0) vs Big South

2-8 in FBS games
Two games left Maine vs the University of Massachusetts Amherst common known as UsuckMajorAss (hopefully they win)
UNH over GSU 22-12
JMU over ECU 34-14
Nova losing to temple at the end of the game 16-13 (shooting themselves in the foot like last year vs SDSU)
Rhode Island losing to CMU 30-27 in 2OT
Stony Brook losing to USF 30-17 (tied 17-17 early in the 4th)
Albany losing to ODU 31-17 (was within 7 halfway through 4th)
Elon losing badly to Toledo 47-13
Towson losing badly to Maryland 63-17
William and Mary losing to Virginia 28-10
Delaware losing to Virginia tech 27-0

Very impressed with how the CAA has performed this year, I will say the FCS OOC is not as strong as it was in previous years. Two FBS wins with two losses that I think were lost more by our teams than won the by the other. Two more competitive games with SBU and Albany and ill even toss in W&M seeing as they didn't get completely crushed. Excited to see where the teams fall once conference play starts.

How is your conference doing this year?

I believe so far the MVFC is 17-3 vs the FCS and 1-4 vs the FBS. There's an Indiana St loss to Liberty also that doesn't really fit into either.

Big Sky: 5-2 (losses are MSU@UND and UNI@SUU)
NEC: 3-0
OVC: 4-1 (loss was Indiana St vs EIU)
Pioneer: 3-0
SWAC: 2-0

FBS win was USD @ Bowling Green

The Maine game at ucf was cancelled. JMU’s win over ECU was 34-14.
The Indiana state loss to liberty counts as an fcs loss. They’re still fcs in classification.

Patriot League has gotten out to a disappointing start, to say the least. Hoping we can rebound against the Ivy League with many contests coming up in the next few weeks.

5-13 Overall (5-10 vs. FCS)

2-1 PFL
1-1 Big Sky
1-1 NEC
1-4 CAA
0-3 FBS
0-2 Big South
0-1 Ivy

No FBS wins, but Nicholls, HBU and Southeastern Louisiana all had close losses to Texas A&M, Texas State and Louisiana-Lafayette, respectively.

4-1 SWAC
1-0 CAA
1-0 OVC
0-2 Big Sky
0-1 MEAC
2-0 D2 teams

Agreed. I think SLC got paranoid the better teams might be looking to jump up to FBS, so they got to expanding early to keep the membership levels respectable after that happens (note: probably NOT happening, so now we're just overcrowded). Or they just wanted to enter higher population markets then the normal 20,000-50,000 towns that host SLC schools. *shrug*

Best OOC win goes to SHSU beating Richmond, but Nicholls and Central Arky both beating their OOC FCS opponents by a comfortable margin is worthy of a little praise too, I think. In a sport where so many good teams drop the ball, sometimes simply living up to expectations is itself noteworthy.

If there's an upside here, it is that the schedules have gotten more ambitious.

I've got the MVFC at 17-4 v FCS

5-2 Big Sky
0-1 Big South
3-0 NEC
4-1 OVC
3-0 Pioneer
2-0 SWAC

0-1 ACC
0-1 Big 12
1-0 MAC
0-2 SEC

Showed up well against the Big Sky, beating the teams ranked #1 and #2 in their conference by a combined score of 95-20

Ugh, the SoCon OOC record isn't so pretty.

FCS: 5-4
FBS: 0-5
D-2: 3-1

Not so bold prediction, the CAA and MVFC will produce at least 8 of the 14 at large bids, IMNHO.

Not too good

I could see the MVFC being worthy of 5 at larges right now.

Some Patriot League teams strategically schedule FBS teams in the O.O.C. schedule. Not an excuse for poor performance. A

The question for MVFC teams is can they get to 6 D1 wins. I think most already have two but going .500 in conference will be a struggle. I did some bracketology using Massey as a guide. Massey like most computers is pretty high on the conference but I had to leave some MVFC teams out because Massey didn't have them projected to get 6 D1 wins. The CAA and the MVFC both got 5 at larges in the format. TN Martin was the last team in giving the OVC 2 teams.

If our guys or Indiana State manage to pick somebody off that at large number will drop quickly.

That and if two other teams could really fall off and lose. A bunch of 3-5 (5-6) teams would not be good for number of teams selected.

Leaving 3 for the BSC, SLC, and Southern?

Doubtful.

Ivy League's OOC record after Week 1 is 6-2 as follows:

Patriot 1-0
CAA. 0-2
NEC. 2-0
Pioneer 2-0
Div II. 1-0

This includes wins over the defending Patriot League and Pioneer League Champions.

I agree on doubtful, I'm just using Massey exclusively for a look at how things will shake out. BSC had 2 and SLC had 1. I was kind of shocked the Southern didn't have one considering the puters liked that conference last year. Like I said earlier my guess is 8 at larges from the big 2 and 6 from the BSC, SoCon, Southland, and OVC. Probably 2, 2, 1, 1 respectively.

The TL;DR of this is that VMI and Chattanooga are making us look bad right now.

Yep.

NEC:

6-9 vs. FCS (with four of the wins coming against Pioneer teams)
0-1 vs. FBS
