ESPN's Outside The Lines ran an interesting piece this morning comparing Ryan Leaf and Peyton Manning and the way their careers have gone in opposite directions.

In the piece, Leaf, who now is the QB coach for a DII team says he would like to move back to his native Montana and coach at either Montana or MSU.

Any Opening? Would a Montana school want Leaf?

Here is a thread from Egriz, debating the subject of Leaf returning to UM as QB coach. He burned many bridges in Montana & most UM fans do not want to ever see him on a Grizzly sideline.

I was not aware how bad Leaf burned the bridges in Montana...

I believe in redemption, but it sounds like after reading that thread that there's not enough redemption for Leaf in all of Montana.

I wouldn't want Leaf coaching my team. What a waste of talent he was and I seriously doubt he has grown up much. He wasn't exactly great taking coaching, why would he be good giving instruction?

Peyton was brought up the right way and his dad prepared him for what was to come, hence the results. Ryan has been a POS for as long as I can remember. A PrimaDonna that was allowed to do whatever he wanted and when thus the fiasco in San Diego. Great talent wasted. I would love to put Dave Dickinson in Ryan Leaf's body. HOF player.....

Yes it is. The school wanted to retire his number and put him in their HOF. He turned it down just like he claimed he wasn't from Montana.
