View Full Version : EASTON HS GETS REVENGE OVER NAZARETH IN DIST.XI DUAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Red Rovers beat the #4 team in US, Nazareth HS, 29-26 in the PA District XI Dual Meet Championship. Last week, Nazareth beat Easton in a dual meet, 32-29. Easton will get top seed out of the East in the State Dual Championships next weekend.
Easton's sophomore,Chris Wilson, at 285, was the key as he beat Blue Eagle Jim Mutch, 2-1, who had beaten him, 4-1, the week before. Colin Dailey sealed the win with a pin at 145 to close out the match.
Easton and Nazareth high schools are a whopping 4 miles from each other and are ranked #3 and #2 respectively in the State as of last week.
In the AA match, Northern Lehigh defeated Bethlehem Catholic.

I'm guessing the #1 ranked team in PA is either #1, 2 or 3 in the US? :eyebrow:

No. Henfield is ranked #1 in PA, but like #35 in US! Go figure. Most of these national polls are ridiculous. Very tough to compare strengths of teams as opposed to tournament teams. Easton was ranked @#11 before tonight. Blair Academy, as usual is #1 in US--and they ARE a kick ass team. However, they are a private academy made up of a lot of post HS kids prepping an extra year for college so some of their kids are 18-19 years old. In terms of public high schools, Nazareth and Easton have to be near the top.
