Urban is a helluva coach.

He's right. You don't win games by reminding your current players that they don't meet your standards. Coaches need to build up, not tear down, their players.

You redshirt your first class and send the held over guys on the field so they can eat the 40+ point losses every week. Show them you have "faith" in them while keeping the actual talent away from the minefield.

I guess Bob Stitt never got the memo. Didn't he get rid of like 50 scholarships in 2 years. And Montana is no better for it.

There was nothing to tear down in the first place though. Our talent was pretty barren after a few years of an interim coach, and all the bad publicity involved with the team and UM around that time. None of those million receivers that lost their schollie would be sniffing the current depth chart

Plus, he gave them all a full season to see what he was working with
