Can you make it two years in a row for a BCS team?

4 of 5 on the road to start the year, with UNH the lone home game. That's never a good thing.

Richmond played UNH well last year, until the end.
Can you give me a breakdown on what they've lost and what I should expect from them?

Thanks for the compliment. Not enough time to give you the complete breakdown and way too early to tell how the team will actually be.
We lose our top 2 LBs, best corner, starting safety & about half the d-line. All in all I think we lose 9 guys from the 2-deep. So, the defense will be pretty young next year. However, on offense pretty much everyone is back except our #2 WR. So maybe a loss of 2 guys from the 2 deep. Not sure if that helps much.
I don't think we'll be preseason favorites, but much like 2000 & 2005 I think that we could surprise some people and maybe sneak our way back to the playoffs. Of course, hope springs eternal in the offseason.

I am worried about all of the road games as well I hope we can get a wind at vandy and cannot wait to play New Hampshire at home folks mark your calendars!
Also:
I am happy to return to the board after a long hiatus Bruce Dowd last year predicted that Villanova would beat Richmond at that point Vilanova was 3-5 and I said that I would not post on this board the rest of the season if they did beat us so I lived up to my promise and now am back. Hey I dont feel so bad now knowin that they went on to hand JMU there only conference loss and then beat Delaware on the road seems we just caught them at the wrong time.

Nice OOC schedule for the Spiders...
A chance to go undefeated during the OOC and get on the way to another potential playoff appearance...

Last time Richmond played Vanderbilt in 2001 they lost 28-22. Richmond was 3-8 that year, Vandy was 2-11. The 2007 Spiders should be a better bet to pull it off. Go Spiders!

The '01 game was miserable as we missed 3 short field goals...
However, our last game with Vandy was 2005 and Cutler took us to the woodshed. Regardless, it's a great trip down there. Similar minded schools and Nashville is a great place to visit.

Vandy has a good coach these days... it will be pretty tough for UR to beat them.

Richmond faltered down the stretch last season. They should be better this year. But being a lackluster FCS team on opening weekend of Vandy's schedule will work to Richmonds favor. I can see Vanderbilt playing down to the perceived competition. Richmond always starts out strong.
Go spiders.

I said it in '06 and I'll say it again for '07...Stacey Tutt was their team. They have a decent defense, but by no means is it capable of taking over a game. They will finish right around .500 again in '07. They'll probably start strong (again) and falter in the last 4 games of the season. :twocents: xcoffeex

They have road games at Hofstra, Youngstown St and Elon. Throw in Bucknell on 9/8 at Bucknell. Dony know much else - possibly they will still play Albany and Monmouth this year and 08.

I stand corrected. Forgot about that 2005 Vandy whipping. 2001 stood out because ya'll opened up with Virgina and lost 17-16 and lost to Vandy by 6 points the following weekend. Tough start and so close to pulling off two huge upsets.
