Dang...you guys...um girls....only get better....xthumbsupxWe also got a 2018 G commit Madi Miller who is also a 3* and was the 56th best at her position. We should be tough the next several years but I can't help but feel there will be quite a bit drop off after losing the best class in our WBB history. We should still be good, but not as good as usual.

Yeah when I look at next year's roster I only see really 4 or 5 players from last year that had any playing time. Kinda scary not to see some of our leading scorers on that list....but we'll rebuild. Our coach has proven she can recruit and for sure coach...xthumbsupx

ACU will be one of the youngest D1 WBB teams in the country this year. Our sophomore point guard is the only returning starter.

Lamar should be the SLC favorite this year.

And you know that HOW? My post was meant as a joke anyway. Since Wofford sucks at women’s basketball it’s the only thing I could come up with.

But I’d rather watch volleyball any day...those tight units are always good for some nice camel toe! 😁Even if they all hate me!👍

The ACU women’s team was picked to finish 5th in conference this year. I could see maybe 3rd or 4th but 5th is too extreme for me especially with all of the talent on this team.

I love the rivalry shaping up between our schools in WBB. We, too, are 4-0 and 37-3 over the past three years. We are very young this year so I don’t expect we will keep up the same pace as the past two years but we will be back over the next couple of years with a great group of freshmen and what looks like The best early signing class we have ever had along with a transfer from Rice who has to sit out this year.

We we have signed our coach to new contracts each of the past two years to keep her at ACU. I hope we are both able to retain our coaches and continue the rivalry for SLC domination.

Man I knew you guys had a GREAT record... well done! But that's about to change this year. The Sugar Bears have reloaded ( don't you love it when fans say that? xlolx ) But seriously they have if I recall correctly the second best defense in the nation when it comes to opponents scoring. If you forget that I can honestly say that the chemistry on this team is AMAZING. They know beating teams like UCONN and Tennessee are almost impossible, but man they give it their all in conference and out of conference. Our head coach's father just passed away and she had to miss some games. Team is behind her all the way! ACU comes to UCA on Jan. 20th. I'll be there for that one! Epic! xthumbsupx

Just looked at your last 5 games...who the frick turned on the scoring machines? 80+ against conference foes....yikes...we'd better have our A game...xeekx

Welp...looks like SFA has one more hurdle to pass this week before taking the reigns of the SLC in record. After defeating undefeated in conference ACU last night they next face a visiting UCA who strangely lost by 4 last night because of a third period where the Sugar Bears only scored 3 points......3 points. Missed open layups, missed 3 pointers, dribbling off the foot...turnover after turnover. What did they eat at halftime to get those results? xlolx

Oh well, here's to a bounce back game with league leader SFA....you won't see a 3 point period very often with these scoring machines...just weird...

It's a defensive battle in that game. Is SFA campus suffering from the flu like the UCA one is? Looks like the women from both teams look worn out...seriously. It's reported from the student health center on campus that 70 students have been seen and have the flu. That doesn't count the ones going off campus to see a doctor. Is it bad there too?

Just st heard the Bears are leading SFA in the other game between the schools. That's a shocker.

First the WNIT announces that Western Illinois will play at South Dakota, despite the fact that they are both in the Summit and have played each other twice. Now the WNIT is listing Houston at South Dakota. ?????

Apparently they didn’t realize WIU and the yotes are in the same conference until someone brought it up. How embarrassing for a national tourney xohnox

Oh, SDSU women get the 8 seed and will face off with the 9 seed, Villanova in South Bend, IN.

Some of these WNIT people must have had too many double martinis while they should have been working.

Nice for USD to host either way- they must figure that the crowd will be bigger there than if they played in Houston. #8 is a pretty good seed for SDSU- not that they didn't deserve it, but usually they get screwed over in the first round matchup. They should win this matchup.

I like our chances in the first game, but the part that sucks about an 8 seed is your second round matchup, the number 1 seed on their home court. The only thing that gives me hope there is apparently Norte Dame has a bunch of injuries I guess.

I’m pretty sure USD had stellar attendance in their last go around in the WNIT, so I’m not surprised they are hosting.

Good luck to USD in the WNIT. The Yotes appear to be one of the top seeds. Shame that WIU may be their 2nd round opponent.

The WNIT is not a seeded tournament. It is private like the CIT and CBI. The WNIT is run by Triple Crown, not the NCAA. Home games are given through a bid process and brackets are set up regionally to lessen travel costs.

The NIT is a seeded national tournament run by the NCAA. Just another equal but not equal moment from the good people at the NCAA. Sort of like having top seeded Women's teams in the NCAA tournament hosting games on their home courts where as in the Men's tournament that would never happen. Plus, the conferences get pay outs for wins from the NCAA Men's, no money is received by conferences for wins in the NCAA Women's. This from a "non-profit" entity, the NCAA, which reported $1.1 billion in profit last year.

Title IX my butt.

In case anybody cares, Dakota Wesleyan from Mitchell, SD, beat Concordia NE, 82-59 to win the NAIA Division 2 Women's national title. Concordia has beaten DWU 3 times this season before this game.

Not to split hairs, but the reported $1.1 billion in revenues, not profit. And they reported something like $958 million in expenses. Not defending them, I have no doubt the expenses are definitely them playing with numbers, but to say $1.1 billion in profits is a bit more than an exaggeration.

UCA women defeat Weber State pretty much with ease in the quarter finals of the WBI tournament. Late surge by WSU made the final closer but the Sugar Bears had 5 players in double digits. UCA will host Saturday at 5.

Well UCA women lost to Yale 54-50. Score was tied with 55 seconds left and things fell apart. That's the way it goes sometimes. After starting out red hot the team shot 30% from the field to end the game. I know this is one they would LOVE to play again but hats off to the Yale women. They were tough and it really was a matter of who hit a couple of more shots would win it. xdrunkyx

I wonder if the Gophers have Brookings on speed dial. I sure would.

It will be interesting to see if they would actually hire a male for that position. They have a great volleyball team- coached by a male. They have a great women's hockey team- coached by a male. Looking back at the women's basketball coaches they have always been a male. It took forever for them to fire Paula Littlejohn even though she was the worst coach that they have ever had.

He obviously should be on any short list that they have. I love Lindsay Whalen but this fantasy that sports writers in the Twin Cities have been trolling out about hiring her as head coach is insanity. She has no experience in coaching. Try her out as an assistant first.

Jackrabbit fans, breathe easy. Lindsay Whalen, Gopher and Lynx star from the nearest "big" city to me, Hutchinson, MN- just named head coach of the Gophers.

That really is odd. I would think that you would want her to be doing this job full time, since the name of the game is recruiting. We shall see how that works out.

I, for one, would like to thank the Goofs for not only letting us keep our coach for a splash hire with zero experience, but also for making sure there isn’t a national power near us to compete with.
