This will be used to promote some of the articles and podcasts we do at the aforementioned site.

First on up this year looks to be from our friend ElCid.

Money, experience, exposure, recruiting, old rivalries; there are many different reasons that FCS teams play FBS teams, but one thing these games all have in common is that for FCS teams it has the potential to be one of their biggest games of the year. FBS teams schedule FCS teams for a number of reasons as well. Since the games are played nearly always at the FBS school, they have to pay a smaller amount to the FCS team than compared to an FBS opponent. It is also an opportunity for some additional playing time for their second and third string that they might not get otherwise. They also get an expected win that counts toward their bowl eligibility. At least it is an expected win. It is far from guaranteed.

This is a thread to drop off a bunch of articles and shows that many members here donate their time to put together. Pooing all over their work cuz you don't like how some are treating Sammy isn't the way to go about this.

Not to be critical but that nickname is just not one that people probably look at and say "that's a good one!" to be honest but if makes a select few happy then so be it. But, to be honest most all of them (for any teams around the country) are fairly lame so I guess it is only going to be good for the select opposing fan base and that is about it.xthumbsupx

Good guess, but I actually wrote 3 of the games while they were live. Easier than looking at replay. No, not easier, more fun. No I stuck it out and it all. Funny thing is we almost began to pull it out, but the boys just couldn't quite muster the strength. Seldom have we been stopped so many times. Frustrating!

Ha! In your face, Lance Berndt!

"A training table's recipe is simple: get your players the calories they need in a way that does not bore them and helps further process the building of an elite athlete. That first part, getting calories, is where you start to see the strength and conditioning mesh with coaches' goals and the nutrition aspect of the game.

Teams split their players into three main categories, gainers, losers and maintainers. As Washington's nutritionist Monica Van Winkle points out in the Wall Street Journal, a linemen needs over 5,000 calories while skill guys need more than 4,000; just to maintain weight. That's more than twice as much as the average recommended daily caloric intake of most people just to keep their weight where it is.

The training table is the new arms race in the college football. Coaches at elite programs are trying to squeeze every drop of production out of their big-time players, and using food to unlock untapped potential is a must. As smaller schools try to play catch-up with facilities, strength and conditioning, film tech and the like, bigger schools are pushing further out in front with nutrition.

Building bigger, more extravagant dining spaces with choices specifically designed to help their athletes gain, maintain and lose weight. There's a reason Jimbo Fisher was begging for a training table when he took over at Florida State.

Seeing training table grow from the same food every week, into the massive production that it has become has been intriguing. Kids are not just getting food slopped at them in troughs anymore, these guys, in the football cafeteria, are getting big-time boosts from their programs through the training table.

Athletes dining is big business, especially in the world of football where improvements to players, means improvements on the field which translates to big bucks for the school. Whether your school does all athletes together, or specialized football cafe, the point is to make sure you are at the top of your game.

The days of football players going through the normal student line, grabbing what they can and getting it down have passed. Football, and the futures of the players, has become too important to leave the responsibility of proper nutrition up to 17-to-23-year-olds."

Forgot to add this again this morning but here is the review podcast:

http://thefcswedge.com/the-fcs-wedge/the-fcs-wedge-2017-1114-week-11-review/

The Preview and playoff discussion will go off tomorrow morning over there at 8a ET.

I'll rep whoever brings that link back and posts it up.

BTW, it wouldn't hurt us if some of you guys are taking anything you like over to your team boards and spreading it around a bit.xthumbsupx

I enjoy these each week (subscribed so they automatically come to my phone), but I'll reserve judgement this week until I get a chance to listen and see if they pick us to win or not. xsmiley_wix

Dang, I didn't even know you could do that. xlolx I was looking the other day for an app that would let people subscribe and be sent to their email and so forth.

Are you maybe talking about Itunes or Stitcher though CB?

Thank you I appreciate your help with the link.

Yeah - iTunes podcasts. Search for "The FCS Wedge". It's great. I can listen to them wherever.

I like the change to split the podcast in two: the review of last weekend's games and the preview of this weekend's games.

The guys do a great job making these.

Don't know if it has been fixed yet, but on my podcast feed, it is the unedited recording. Not a problem to me, as I appreciate the work either way. But wanted to give a heads up if you were intending to post it cleaned up.

Hmm, which location are you getting that one from? I wonder if it is the one from BTR that goes to stitcher, itunes, etc. because I did go reload those but might have had an internet interruption that screwed it up.

Thanks for the info. I will check it out.
