Where are your students/band located?

Five years ago, Maine moved the student section and marching band from behind the home bench, across the way to behind the visitors bench. There were prior issues with older season ticket holders complaining that the students were standing during the game and they were disruptive. Basically, our students have half a grandstand to themselves (approximately 1500 seats) from the south end-zone near the student entrance to where the band is (approximately at the 50). The "visitors section" is essentially the remainder of the grandstand. We love it, opponents hate it, and a small minority of fans don't like it either and want it switched back. They say it "isn't loud enough", but speaking as a drum major I can honestly say they have no context of what loud is.

Going through different schools ticketing websites, the information I've gathered (in the CAA, at least) has led me to believe that this is actually commonplace. So this begs the question: where are your students and band seated in your home stadium and do you like it?

Our Band is in section 111 and our students are in sections 112 and 113. A good number of students sit in the south endzone along with the "band heads". The Visiting band sits in section 122

The band sits in the middle on the visitor's sideline (so they can be loud and heckle the visiting team). Students are mostly in Section G on the home side, but also just to the north of the band on the other side, and in the end zone benches some. It could be better....if we had more students show up.

Well, my two season ticket seats are up top in section C (about the north 40 yard line). But my two seats haven't seen my butt in over 15 years since I am down on the sidelines taking photos. Still buy the tickets to support McNeese, though.

The first couple years at Casey Stadium the Albany band was in section 109; the only visiting team "band" (Columbia's) was in 112. Last year the Albany band was in 112.

In good weather a lot of students hang out on the grassy Family Berm, or behind the visitors' bench. In bad weather they just don't show.

The students are located in housing of varying quality in and around the Missouri State campus. Some are back in their hometown, others are at work.

The band is located on the east sideline.

YSU has their students behind the visitors bench on the east side. The band is also on the away side and it's the worst thing ever to me. Keep them both on the home side. Our old whiny fans can't fill the home side anyway regardless so what's it matter ? They like to sit on their hands and just sit there in silence and watch a football game and complain if anyone stands or makes noise. It's pathetic.

At Lafayette there is no "band" as you folks from large state universities think of it. There is a "pep band" that is some years OK and some years not. As for the students, they are in their rooms, in the library, home for the weekend, getting over their Friday night binge, or whatever. Big game Saturday afternoon (or evening) is no longer a big draw for undergrads as it once was.
