Here is a thread to talk about the top names for the 2018 NFL Draft.

Another name to add who is going to get major looks this fall is San Diego TE Ross Dwelley.

Do you think it's the southern cal thing or how is SD getting all this talent?

Good for them either way, just impressive for a non-scholly.

I've said it in the MVFC threads but this year the valleys story will be SDSU's offense vs. NDSU's defense. Four kids from that matchup (rightfully imo) on this list.

Just a good coach finding underrated players and developing them. Jamal Agnew was the real deal and should have a solid pro career while Dwelley should get strong looks in 2018 and for the 2019 draft their OT Cooney is likely to get looks with a strong season this year.

I also expect the NDSU DT to get looks as well. I have seen his name on some preseason lists that teams use as well.

I assume you are talking about Tanguay. Have to see how he comes back from the knee injury. So far sounds promising.

Hearing anything about our C/G Kuhnert?

Nothing on the OL yet. When I saw film I thought he was most likely a tryout type player but I'll ask and see what teams think of him.

Here is an early list of players to watch for next year. I'll expand this list in the next few weeks. The listed position is their projected pro position.

Do you see DeLuca playing inside at the next level?

I don't know his verified measurables yet but if he is say 6'3 240-250 range then I could see him doing it. If he weighs around 230 and runs a 4.70 or better then I would project him to OLB.

Gotcha. It sounds like he will be playing outside this year for NDSU, but I think that has a lot more to do with personnel than anything else. I think he has plenty of speed.

Clive Georges? He's used up his eligibility I believe, and wasn't granted a medical redshirt.

I replaced him now with Mercer. He is back and will get some looks. Georges was suppose to return. Did he possibly transfer or is he done with football? I did not remember seeing him work out at a draft eligible pro day in the spring?

He applied for a medical redshirt for this year and was denied, so his eligibility is up. With his injury I'm not sure he would have even been healed enough for spring pro days.

Unfortunate, too, as he could have made a big difference for UND this year, as they will now have to rely on a true freshman to be that burner outside.

Obviously whatever this suspension is won't help him but do you think Dale Warren is just too small? I'm not saying he belongs in the NFL I would just think his speed would get him some sort of look.

Whether fair or not even a small suspension is going to hurt a small player. He is a free agent in my mind whose 40 and 10 will be key. If he isn't getting mid round or better grades by December I doubt someone drafts him because he is undersized. Although, if he has a 140 tackle, 20 TFL, and 10 sack season, test very well, and were to light up the Senior Bowl then that could change obviously.

There are some other names who are gaining some traction around NFL circles.

Youngstown State TE Kevin Rader, Southern Utah Mike Needham, UNI WR Darius Fountain, and Howard RB Anthony Philyaw.

Sam Houston State QB Jeremiah Briscoe is helping himself. I may be bumping him from a FA to a 6th-7th round projection. He could end up going higher if he plays the way he has been for the rest of the season. He looks much better.

YSU TE Kevin Rader is a player with some buzz and he may get upgraded to be a combine invite. I have just recently been hearing his name as someone who some folks liked in the spring.

Southern Utah LB Mike Needham ran really well in the spring and he could end up being a 4th-6th round pick. He is a name I need to do more work on. He could get drafted for sure.

I have been behind on getting some info from league sources but now that I'm talking to people I'm hearing a lot more.

I have not seen a FCS name pop up as a completely new name that was not really known or rated very low in the spring besides the fact that Briscoe is looking good but that should change over the next 3-4 weeks when most of the risers are identified.

What are your thoughts on NDSU LB Nick Deluca after his latest injury? It's still unclear the severity of it but it's rumored to be a meniscus tear that could end his season or could allow him to still come back this year. Does a 2nd significant injury in 2 years still allow him to be draftable? I would've thought he'd be a mid-round pick had he stayed healthy this year.

Yes it hurts. If he can't stay healthy it kills his draft stock. What will truly determine that he moves up or down will be the medical tests. If he fails the medical then teams will remove him from their board but if he passes it then he should stay in the mid rounds or if he passes with a low grade he would drop to a PFA.

Dallas Goedert is Kiper's #1 TE in all of FBS/FCS entering the draft.

Also, from his list FCS related.

#10 Offensive Guards - Skyler Phillips, Idaho State
#10 Offensive Tackles - Brandon Parker, NC A&T

Here is my list of those most likely to get a NFL Combine invite if it were voted on today. Many of these would be on the bubble in my opinion but all would definitely get several votes and most of these should get an invite.

I'm not sure if he would get in the combine or not but there has been a lot of love for Stony Brook S Chris Cooper. I'm also hearing love for the Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta. He could go as high as the 5th or 6th round.
