Alright! A former Houston Texan!
Todd Washington, who will be the offensive line coach, joins the Torero staff after an 8-year playing career in the NFL. Washington, a 4th round pick by Tampa Bay in 1998, played five seasons with the Buccaneers (1998-2003), including the 2002 Super Bowl XXXVII Championship team. He closed out his career with the Houston Texans (2003-2005). Played four years at Virginia Tech University (1994-97) where he earned All-Big East 1st team honors in 1997 and appeared in the Senior Bowl (1998). Washington earned his B.S. degree in Physical Education and Health in 1998. He was a coaching intern (August, 2006) for East Texas Baptist University and for the Amsterdam Admirals (February, 2006) at their NFL Europe Training Camp.

I like that Caragher has retained 6 coaches from the old staff. I also like the continuity of having multiple coaches with NFL experience. In my mind, this keeps USD going in the right direction. The season will provide the proof...
