NDSU OC Tim Polasek is leaving to become line coach at University of Iowa.
His passion was untouchable. He was a great recruiter as well. Play calling left some questions at times, but what fan doesn't play Monday morning quarterback?
Be interesting to see who they go with for this. Our QB coach (Randy Hedberg) has the history and credentials as a head coach for 16+ years but don't think he wants the position as he is at the tail end of his career.
Everyone else is pretty young/inexperienced at that level.

CP is a great position coach and a fantastic recruiter. The OC position just wasnt his strong suit. Wish him the best.

Big loss, IMO. I think we can all agree on his excellent passion, but I was impressed with how he transitioned the offense with some of the new concepts in college football. Yet, he still kept us in our traditional TOP and run controlling roots.
That last line won't be without criticism and on the home board some are celebrating this.
Good luck to Tim and the rest of his career.

I feel like there is a lot of people happy he left. However how does leaving at this time affect who they can get as a replacement. I'm assuming this late in the game for an OC they will just go in-house to replace?

Saw this pic last night of Bison fans burning down the stadium... is it that bad? or is this a continuation of the frustration from the playoff loss? xlolx Just kidding!

I think this was a good move for coach and NDSU.

Yeah. Success breeds movement..usually up to FBS. Glad you guys have someone on your radar in the off season. That helps.

This is good for everyone. Tim is a great coach, his passion towards the game was undeniable. However, he did out think himself plenty of times, almost killed intermediate routes, and went away from some of the pro offense that made NDSU hard to stop. Personally, never liked the spread much for NDSU, we don't recruit for it. Still his play design was outstanding, the Eagles were using similar plays while Carson was getting up to speed. NDSU has also got praise others in the NFL. Just wish his play selection wasn't so up and down.

Maybe we can get Chris Simdorn away from Roseville High to become OC.

We don't need to go strictly veer but it wouldn't hurt to throw a few of the old school stuff in the playbook.

Hopefully this guy changes it up a bit and we run left, then right, then chuck it up on 3rd and long. Was getting tired of the run right first all the time.xlolx

At least your OC decided to give you ample time to replace him. Ours just up and left over the summer last year.

True! I wonder if he's going to insist on a buyout clause too?
