The Gamecocks are in the process of hiring Notre Dame assistant Jeff Burrow as their new receivers coach.
Burrow, 30, has spent the last two years with the Irish defense and handled quality control for coach Charlie Weis' program. He also spent two years as a graduate assistant at Minnesota and two years as the secondary and strength coach at Greenville (Ill.) College.
Burrow was a four-year letterman at Cincinnati — two as a wide receiver and two as a starting cornerback. He played one season with the CFL Winnipeg Blue Bombers, but an injury shortened his year.
He is from Sylvester, Ga.
