I used to coach against both of these schools. One side is mad at the other for leaving their starters in. The other is mad for that they didn't let their star score his 1000th point. No winner here.

I heard this story on KFAN today, is a 1,000 points a big deal, Steve Blehm with the School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, ND scored over over 3,900 points in his career and that was before the 3 point shot.

True. Problem with people being focused on their "stats" and not the game. Easton HS fired their longtime football coach after a 7-6 season. A 'down year" for them. The coach in 24 years won 75% of his games, record like 230-85 and a couple ties. Parents complained about his focus on running the ball too much and not giving their precious babies more "touches" so they could shine and build stats to impress recruiters. So under pressure to change his style, the coach said no and his annual renewal was not only not renewed, but they cleaned house. All the assistants not renewed. I could understand it if there was an institutional issue such as hazing or lack of discipline, etc. But it wasn't. It was all because of selfishness.

Yet you defend the special little snowflake side politically....

I don't think so anymore. When I was in school we had an 18 game regular season- now they can play about 8-10 more. No three point line, game was 32 minutes instead of 36, only pricks left their starters in and pressed the entire game when ahead by over 30 points.

The guy scored his 1000th point last night in another game on the road. I think the focus should be on how the team did instead of some big ceremony.

But it wasn't. It was all because of selfishness.

A few years ago in Minnesota- it may even have been when they only had one class- the coach of a hockey team that made it to state was fired. It wasn't the varsity players that got rid of him- it was the junior high parents. They should have been horsewhipped for that. Completely gutless administration too. That caused quite an uproar.

Not sure what that means, "snowflake"? So, I am not sure how politics enters into football philosophy. I may have liberal leanings in some areas, but I have always been one for discipline and making everyone accountable to team, family, company or whatever. I have great disdain for the "helicopter parents". Has nothing to do with my political views. Just like there are differences between being liberal politically and judicially.

You vote for the party who hold NOBODY accountable for ANYTHING... If you are too stupid to not know that the democrat party views government as righteous "helicopter parents" for all of us I wonder how you ever earned a degree from le-high...

“I have a lot of respect for Bob Hansen,” said Dan Fredrickson. “Jaiden’s mom can’t make it to the next two games. I wanted him to know we were not trying to run up the score or embarrass them.”
...
“When you’re in Alden and at the bottom of the conference, I guess you hang your hat on stopping a kid from getting 38 points,” said Fredrickson. “But it was very classless in my opinion.”

How bad does the one coach sound? They almost doubled up the other team (74-38) and the coach is complaining because the other team did not let his player get 38 points and now his mom won't be able to see him get his 1,000th point.

I don't vote for any party and never have. The Dems have serious problems, but then, so do the Repubs. I look at the issue and respond accordingly. I would like to see hard work rewarded and those that don't work hard made accountable. I also recognize that a lot of people in this country have been shat upon by both parties for a long time while the gulf between the corporate elites and the middle class has become a chasm. I better not keep going, at this point this 'hijack' will be transferred to the Lounge/poli wing.

Two people who were at the Cleveland game last night told me that the player got his 1000th point- then blew a 25 point lead and got beat at the buzzer for their first loss of the season 75-72.

Karma?
