He should, just took the top 10 from last year. Vlad and Pudge will get votes.

Edgar MArtinez wasn't a ballplayer he was just a hitter.

Dale Murphy was a BALLPLAYER.

His MVP awards in 1982 and 1983 make him one of only four outfielders in major league history with consecutive MVP years; at the time, he was the youngest to have accomplished the feat. His many honors also include seven All-Star appearances, five Gold Gloves, and four Silver Sluggers.

Murphy played CF with the grace of a DiMaggio but Joe's lifetime average was probably about 80 points higher, besides Pitchers had a chance to get the Murph out but with JD it was much different. Murphy was drafted as a Catcher and had a fear of hitting the pitcher when throwing to 2B .... They moved him to First base and eventually to CF .... yes, watched him play a lot back in the 80's as a life long Braves fan... Edgar Martinez had probably the sweetest swing for a righty that I can remember, Guy was born to hit...

If you believe what you read in the Ted Williams biography "The Kid," DiMaggio was also a real prick.

And then there is the Pete Rose debate.....I think he should be if the steroid era players start to get in.

DiMaggio had a .325 lifetime average, 3 MVPS plus 2 second place finishes, a 13 time all star.

Fielding % JD- .978 DM-.982

Hits- JD (in 5 fewer seasons) 2214 DM-2111

The most amazing stat for Joe D., is that he struck out 369 times total in 13 years.

Murphy was also hitting 35-44 home runs a season in an era where 30 homers was a HUGE deal. You know before expansion and steroids???

My old man hated the Yankees, he said home plate was the size of a book of matches when the Yankee hitters were up.

if Murphy could've had two or three more big seasons like that he would already be in the Hall of Fame trust me I got nothing against the Murph
