I think Manning and the Colts finally get over the hump.
This also seems to be the Saints year and I don't trust the Bears offense.

I'm thinking Saints vs. Colts. Let's get rid of this dome-team thing.

Pats - Saints

Yea, the Colts beat the Pats last time, but after what they pulled in San Diego last week, I got to believe now in the Pats

Saints "D" gets to Rex and the Bears...and the Saint's run game gets past the Bears (barely).

Goin' with the Saints and the Colts. Two teams long overdue. Saints more balanced and the obvious momentum of being a team of 'destiny.' I also think Manning finally breaks through.

Since 2001, the Patriots are 19-6 (.760) when playing a team for the second time in a season and are 7-1 when facing an opponent against whom they had suffered a loss earlier in the same season. The Patriots have outscored their opponents 571-386 in their 21 rematches since 2001.

Q: What do you call 47 millionaires around a TV watching the Super Bowl?
A: The Indianapolis Colts.

Q: What do the Indianapolis Colts and Billy Graham have in common?
A: They both can make 70,000 people stand up and yell "Jesus Christ."

Q: How do you keep an Indianapolis Colt out of your yard?
A: Put up goal posts.

Q: Where do you go in Indianapolis in case of a tornado during the playoffs?
A: The RCA Dome - it's rare for a "touchdown" to happen in there!

Q: What do you call an Indianapolis Colt with a Super Bowl ring?
A: A thief.

Q: What's the difference between the Indianapolis Colts and a dollar bill?
A: You can still get four good quarters out of a dollar bill

Peyton Manning, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God showed him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Colts flag in the window.

"This house is yours for eternity, Peyton," God said. "This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here."

Peyton felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the sidewalk, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a blue and red sidewalk and a 50-foot-tall flagpole with an enormous Patriots logo flag. A Patriots towel hung in every window.

Peyton looked at God and said, "God, I’m not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I hold many NFL records, and I even went to the Hall of Fame."

"So what’s your point, Peyton?" God asked.

"Well," Peyton said, "why does Tom Brady get a better house than me?" God chuckled. "Peyton, that’s not Tom’s house," he said. "It’s mine."

I'm going with the Saints and the Patriots.

As much as I despise New England more than any other team in professional sports, I've learned that it's a pretty stupid idea to pick against Tom Brady & Bill Belichick (sp?) in the playoffs. Plus, Manning & the Colts have done nothing to prove to me that they can get over the hump and make it to Miami. I didn't buy into the Jake Plummer hype last year, so I'm not buying into the Indy hype this time.

As for the Saints...I just have this feeling that they're the "team of destiny." In recent years, it seems like there's one team in the playoffs that just absolutely can't not get to the Super Bowl. To me, it's the Saints this time.

That being said - I'm not even picking who would win that Super Bowl.

I'm pretty confident that the Bears will beat the Saint's basically because history has been very consistent against dome teams playing on the road, outside, in conference title games. Besides, only 4 rookie coaches have made the Super Bowl, Callahan was the last. History is really against the Saints in this one so i'm going with the law of averages.

As for the Patriots-Colts game. My heart says the Pats my head says the Colts because they're playing at home and if they don't do it this year they might never get there or atleast for another 3-4 years ala Elway late in his career. The Pats are a little better in the trenches on both sides of the ball compared to the Colts and i think Samual is a good enough DB to neutralize either Wayne or Harrison enough to force Manning to make a lot of underneath throws. After dealing with Thomlison last week Addai and Rhodes shouldn't pose too much. Also historically the team with a very good defense and solid "O" beats the team with a good offense, not nearly as good past years, and decent defense. So i'm playing the law of averages like i did in the Bears Saint's game. Mannings never won a big game, and Dungy is actually worse in big games from his time at TB to now. New England has never lost a conference title game, 2-0 at home and 3-0 away. If that Pats win tomorrow that will make it 5 Super Bowl appearences in 10 years, six overall. That will deffinately put them with the 49ers, Cowboy's and Steelers as the 4 greatest franchises in the Super Bowl era should they win. Sorry Packers, but too much of their success came prior to the Super Bowl era.

The Green Bay Packers are the ONLY team to win three straight NFL championships. Vince Lombardi lost only ONE game in the playoffs and that was with Jim Taylor being tackled just short of the goal line as time expired to give the Phildadelphia Eagles the 1960 NFL championship. It wouldn't have mattered if there had been a Super Bowl in 1961, 1962 and 1965. The Packers would have killed those AFL teams (the Houston Oilers, the Dallas Texans and the Buffalo Bills).

No doubt, the Packers in Super Bowl I & II were at the tail-end of a great Championship run, 5 in the 1960's. I think there's room for Dallas, SF, GB, Pittsburgh and New England on the list of the 5 greatest championship franchise in the Super Bowl era.
